Having never played Halo PC, I've never experienced the flamethrower. Do you guys think we'll see it in Halo 3?

probably, since bungie has said that they want to put the flamethrower in halo

i certainly hope so
Yep. They're prerequisite was that it had to burn things realistically. Unfortunately they couldn't get it to work for Halo (1&2).

Hopefully 3rd time's the charm.

I've tried it, and frankly, it just doesn't fit in with the other Halo weapons, so I wouldn't really mind if it was excluded.

No. There's a reason they didn't put it H2; cause it sucks almost as hard as your mother on ecstasy.

It should be medium range but in long bursts like ones in vietnam. The one right now suks i say if there gonna keep it how it is, leave it out.

I think it should be in no matter if it sucks or not. The Sentinel Beam is in isn't it? And it's arguably the worst weapon in multiplayer. I say bring 'em all. Fuel Rod too.

I loved the flamethrower in halo pc. I was terribly dissapointed when it didnt make it into halo 2. I will be even more dissapointed if it doesn't make it into halo 3. It is a fun gun to use, which cannot be said about alot of guns, and wouldn't upset the balance at all.

plus, even if it sucks or is imbalanced, people will find a way to make it into a fun custom game.

No, it is an ineffective weapon that was already abandoned by our military today. Why bring it back? It isnt effective, it is hazerdous on the battlefield.

I know, its a game, there is no realism, they can have a flamethrower if they want to. Yeah, they can, but in Halo PC, it was rarely ever used in multiplayer and it was only used for the flood in single player.

I would like to know where you got your facts, and no your ass is not a credible source. I used, and had the flamethrower used on me, many times in halo pc, and it wasn't in singleplayer, so how exactly did you use it on the flood?

So what if it is ineffective and a hazard, it is fun, and that is the most important thing, seeing as how this is a game.

Well, i meant that it would only be useful in campaign against the flood. And i really dont have too many encounters with the flamethrower, and i dont like to use it becuase not only does it hurt them, but you as well. Not to mention it is incredibly in-accurate.

It may be fun sometimes, but it really wouldnt add much to gameplay. I really dont see how having a flamthrower in Halo 3 will make multiplayer alot better. Actually, i think having too many kinds of weapons ruins the game. There is a limit to how many weapons you should have in a game. And in Halo 2 they were getting close to that limit.

Well CMT managed to make use of it in their remake of the Campaign, and it was very effective against Hunters.

It is not only usefull against flood. Trust me. I mod Halo PC, and have put the flamethrower in many maps (it is already in The Library, and there is even a Flood Actor Varient that uses it, but it was left out, like the flood juggernaut in H2), and it is INCREDIBLY effective against EVERYTHING except hunters.

And also, it is very difficult to set yourself on fire. The flames move faster than you! And the best thing is it's like the needler. IT SETS THEM ON FIRE! Thus they can be killed even if they kill you as the burning effects keep injuring them.

All in all, it would be a great addition to the Halo 3 Armoury. (I can just imaging Johnson poping open a crate in a warehouse and seeing it. "Ohhh baby!")
