Hi all, i just got Halo PC yesterday. I played through a couple of campiagn missions, and everythig was fine.....but then i tried to play multiplayer and it said An error has occured trying to contact the Gamespy master server. I then went and dowloaded the 1.07 patch and tried again, same thing....I uninstallled the game and the patch, then tried again, same thing. I also noticed my game isnt really "Checking for updates" because when i reinstalled it it stayed at 1.0. Please someone help me....Ive tried everything.

Thanks in advance

If you have internet security or a firewall, turn it off. Make sure you have a stable Internet connection too. That error message means that Halo can't connect to the Internet.

err in the halo setup, did you choose to download gamespy arcade? because you need that to join multiplayer games, and yeah, go to Control Panel/ Firewall Settings/ Exceptions, and check halo and gamespy arcade, if that doesnt help then i dunno what will, your connection possibly... : \

Thanks for the help guys, it turns out that i had a Norton Antivirus software installed that i thought had expired. I guess it still blocks stuff even when it expires XD

That just means its updates had expired. I use free stuff like AVG. I don't have to pay for updates!
