So whats up with this? Bungie weekly updates have been pretty weak on the Halo 3 side for many many weeks, if not more than a month. Not a single screenshot has been released anytime recently. Its starting to become a drought as far as screenshots, trailers, or anything in general about Halo 3. We know close to nothing about the game or the story, and its been a long time since the announcement trailer. I just dunno, I go to bungie.net hopeing for the Bungie Weekly Update and I hope to read something about Halo 3 or maybe a new pic or vid. Nothing, zip, nada. Im not really interested in members in the spotlight and humpdays. Lets hear some info on Halo 3, thats why we are here.

All this and an unknown (kinda laughable) release date is turning my anticipation and interest into apathy. I mean it just gets to a point where you wait too long that you lose interest, its innevitable that it pushes people into - "OK I dont care now whenever it comes out then Ill go buy it but this is wasting my time thinking about it and waiting." Being early July 2006 still, that 2007 release date is kind of a joke. It could be November 2007 for all we know. Its almost to the point of forgetting about it untill we see it in a store and go, "Oh thats out now?". Actually Ill revise that, announcing the game at that early of a point is mean. It should have been announced later, a 6 month waiting time total is appropriate. Not a year +. So yeah Im just to the point where the whole Halo 3 and info is really stale now, Im not getting anything to keep my interest up. Ill bet my money on that a massive portion of people feel this way. Thatys pretty much it, Im not seeing jack shiite everytime I see an update.

"If you want to know a ton of information about Halo 3, this is not the week for you" - Bungie

Yeah well every week for the past month or more hasnt been our week, period.

yesterday's tidbit about the UI was fine for me.

READ the updates, man.... There's alot of great stuff, maybe not halo 3.. but its called bungie studios, not HALO3'sville. also, we need to remember the movie, novels, GNs and other things. Think about what kind of crappy conjecture we'd be having if we didn't even have a game to look forward to!

Eh... Not having much info about Halo 3 isn't bothering me. They'll show something when they're ready.

Drpepper687:

Bungie does not release screenshots or videos that fast and that frequently, they never did.
In fact, I believe they are revealing too much more info of Halo 3 than it's usual of Bungie (of course I don't dislike it).
Bungie will eventually show somethong more, whether it is at the Games Convention or X06 or X07 or E3 2007. They've done it with Halo 2, and there's no reason not to do it again.
Halo 3 has been still only recently announced, and it will take time and ocasion to see more.
Just be patient.

Wow there are a lot of complainers out today.

Who are you to demand Bungie release screenshots and such? The game has only officially been announced for a month, and you're getting your panties in a bunch because Bungie has chosen to take things slow. There will be screenshots and other goodies when Bungie deems it proper. Until then, go do something productive.

My post was very clear. There was no bullcrapoli as you guys seem to think. I stated everything very intelligently. Its clear showing up to look at the updates and then not finding anything, is getting old. Probably the next time I see something Halo 3, will be in the store a year from now because this is a waste of time.

i hope you all realize that it's called a BUNGIE weekly update. frannkie has said many times that they are not obligated to give you anything, so just be happy with what you have. the updates are there to give you some insight into a week in the life of bungie and how their game development progresses. little scraps of info about halo 3 are merely perks.

Indeed. You all saw what happened with Halo 2. They were releasing screenshots almost regulary. You could almost piece the story together, not to mention too much hype met with disappointment.

So, IMO, Bungie shouldn't release anything. No new updates, no screenshots, no trailers. At least several months in between. That gives everyone less to complain about, overanalyze, wildly speculate, and less to know about the story itself. So what if there's nothing to talk about? Go do something more productive.

Ok how about this, they shouldnt have told us about the game so far from the release date. Thats like, here's your xmas present, but you cant open it for a year +. It should have been announced later. Those of you who rush in OMG SOMEBODY IS POSSIBLY EXCERCISING THEIR RIGHT TO CRITICIZE are too funny. Heres some info, there are more people who are bored and already dont care.

Welcome to Bungie, where secrecy, honey mustard and BBQ sauce are the way to go. Bungie could also decide to write no updates at all.

They are there to tell you what's going on in the studio's, not to show you screenshots. it's called the Bungie Weekly update. Not the Halo 3 weekly update.

I'm certifiable.

Bungie has traditionally been closed-mouthed about the details of their upcoming projects. If this is a problem for you, then I suggest you give up entirely on the Weekly Updates because you'll never be happy with them.
