In Halo and in Halo 2, human fighter jets were only seen for about half a second at a time. The fighters I am talking about sre longsword fighters. They're talked about in the books, but never described. In the end of Halo 2 MC is seen piloting a forunner ship towards Earth. What if Bungie made the first level f Halo 3 starting with an aerial combat scene in which MC is piloting that ship into a human space port? He gets in, and they do the start-up tutorial with movements and actions. Then the player moves into an area with a squad of Longsword fighters and their UNSC pilots. MC then hears on his intercom "Get in one of those fighters, Chief, we're goin' for a joy ride!" (or something like that). Then you get in and a pop up comes and tells you the controls. (All manual now) Then you fly off with the other fighters. You in front. You have to fight through the naval battle above Earth until you can get close enough to the atmosphere to land on a freighter. Then you are loaded onto a pelican with a squad of ODSTs. This should be the first mission in aerial combat. There should much more of these, some with the covanent. I am not talking about specific aerial battles. In ground batles as well, there should just be longsword fighters parked at the back lines. You know, just like banshees are. Longsword fighters should be an addition to the field vehicles like the ghost, scorpian, warthog, etc. Aerial combat would be good for online play as well. But bungie should not put too much detial to aerial combat. There should be much more ground combat, or it would change the game in a negative way.
