Weapons:
Needle Launcher
Owned by the Rebel Covenant
- Fires a large spike into a wall/enemy, and after a short delay needles burst from the rear of the spike, effective for needling around corners/in corridors.
Uses: Good for clearing out rooms/corridors. A shoot and hide kind of gun, the after effect of the weapon is the most devastating.
Needle Shotgun
Owned by the Rebel Covenant
- Essentially a weapon that first lots of needles at once, that do not seek but still explode in the same way that the current needler does, weak unless all or most needles hit.
Uses: Delayed reaction version of the human shotgun.
Energy Shield
Owned by the Covenant
- Reflective shield held in one hand, and off to the side slightly. Pulling the appropriate trigger will bear it infront of the player, slowing them down slightly but allowing for direct bullet reflection. A more tactical approach.
Uses: Defensive weapon, the first in the halo series. Good for reflecting enemy fire and protecting flag/bomb carriers. A player could become very good at judging the reflecting angle, returning sniper bullets into heads.
Spore Cannon
Owned by the Forerunner
- Very large weapon and cumbersome to hold. Developed by the forerunner it lobs canisters filled with the flood infection forms towards the enemy. With a slow arc projectile it can be easily evaded, however if shot while it is airborn it will explode and rain down a cloud of acid and tenticles in a wide area.
Uses: Tactical long range weapon, if fired directly it will be powerful against vehicles, if exploded in the air will be powerful agianst enemy players, causing damage over a large area as it splashes down from above.
Engineer's Pincer
Owned by the Covenant
- Metalic handle with a short precise beam of concentrated plasma energy protruding from the end. The tool of the covenant engineers which allows them to throughly repair most weapons and vehicles. Used as a weak melee weapon, think of it like the 'Plasma Dagger' not as strong or as lame as the sword but still good. No lunge attack, instead of powerful downwards stab which is a one-shot kill if hitting them in the back or head. Attacking ally players will recharge their shield extremely fast.
Uses: More versatile, perhaps one handed, melee weapon.
Needler Lance
Owned by the Rebel Covenant
- A interesting device which can materialise the needle crystal extrememly fast. This hand held device will continously generate a long spire of the needle crystal which can, if used correctly, become a very powerful instrument. The normal attack of this weapon is a swing, if the long spire hits anything, including the environment, the entire spire above impact point will break off and explode within seconds. Useful when been chased. Would require good physics engine to track the shards movements. The lunge attack will charge the enemy head on and peice them, snapping a part of the spire off into them. They will suffer a large explosion shortly after.
Uses: If your above an enemy, hit the lance onto the ledge a few times and watch the purple shards fall down upon your enemy and bring quick death, think of it as a stick of grenades. Alternatively useful for take out multiple enemies in combat, with the lunge attack, a kind of hit and run style.
Manipulation Beam
Owned by the Forerunner
- Utilizing the same technology implemented into all Monitor's, it is a beam of high density energy that can manipulate light object around it. This blue beam can be used to pick up small objects, knock over vehicles, or push enemies away with a small concentrated blast.
Uses: Picking up an object to use as a shield, also a potential mellee weapon. Providing there is fall damage in Halo 3, this will be useful for pushing enemeis off edges.
I figured the Rebel Covenant utilize the needler technology more so than the original Covenant, and i beleive with the help of the sentinals/343 would heavily experiment upon it to create various weapons of great power.
Well thats pretty much all of my ideas.
Enjoy.
