the xbox 360 has a system clock right? to make the campaign a bit mroe interesting..wouldn't it be cool to be able to play campaign levels according what time it is in real life on your xbox 360, MSR on the dream cast had it..so surely halo 3 could be able to handle it? by the way it would be an option that you could turn off. so if you play at 12 in the night the levels would be at 12 at night..all dark adn so on, wereas 3 in teh afternoon it would be sunny..or daylight?

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Uhh.. wouldn't that kinda' be screwing witht eh plot of the game? I mean its suppose to have a set time. It wouldn't be the same thing if like in Halo 2 you were in New Mombasa at, night.

It would be cool, but i think it shouldn't be in.

yer thats why i said it could be an option you could turn off..i eman i always wanted to play outskirts at night..and it would be a reason to get night vision on the sniper again.

Dont think it would work it wouldn't work in campain multi player or any thing else because there is something called time zones.

maybe just in multi-player?

Dawn of the Dead video Here
6 Minutes of Hell video here

Why would it mess with the story line? Because it would mess up the timeline? It is more messed up to spend 12 hours playing a game, and have no realistic time progression. I say go for it, it would add a new element to the gameplay.

"I'm hungry..."

Well, although it would be cool if it followed the actual time of day, I was thinking it would be just as cool to have the weather, day and night, and all that stuff on it's own timer.

well, as was said earlier, what about time zones?

visibility is worse in the dark, so if youre playing accross the world, some people will have light, giving them an advantage.

I'm all for it for LAN parties though.

So System Link yes, Xbox live no.

One: It messes with the story.
Two: It messes with the settings and mood. When Bungie creates a game they try to set a certain mood. A certain level in the gritty darkness of night. The epic battle under the sun etc.
Three: It adds more work for the Bungie crew. I'd rather have them spend time on creating a more solid gameplay.

I say no.

thats solved simply..hsot is chosen for the time of day..i.e. the host's time is taken ina ccordance. if its matchmaking then a random person is chosen

Why bother with making it set to someone's time, why not just have a randomiser for the day-night cycle, just like you do with the gametypes and maps that you play in current matchmaking, that way its barely a difference in terms of programming it in (because i know what im talking about... not), and you still get the same effect.

Plus no-one could possibly manipulate anything, as im sure people would find ways of doing if they had control of the day-night cycle. Don't ask me how, but better safe than sorry right?

I think there should definitely be an option for multiplayer to have it either a set time (you choose the map you want to play and then could choose day or night or rainy or whatever) or if something like that Survival mode gets implemented then that could definitely benefit from this, if I survive for 12 hours I sure as hell better be seeing it become darker as it progresses into the night :)
