I find it very difficult to get an interest in campaign again after what Halo 2 did to the story. I just saw the E3 2003 trailer for this game yesterday and boy would that have been good. But instead of the defence of earth we get MC and Arbiters Excellent Adventures, where they go to ANOTHER halo and meet a giant talking plant.I don't agree. Halo 2 just isn't Halo 1, I think that's why your complaining. I enjoyed the Arbiter, and the story itself. It had a Hell lot more action then in Halo 1, more twists and turns. You could say there are plot holes, no, there is not. Halo is something you need to look deep into to understand.
Look deep into to understand? Are you trying to be funny? There is nothing to understand. It's all plain to see. One would have to be brain-dead to think of it as something layered or complex.
Bleating about the smoke and mirrors routine of bringing in the Arbiter and suddenly behold ZOMG STORY DEPTH doesn't cut it with me. It was too short, the whole gravemind thing had no credibility, and the so called 'ending' was like a slap in the face. 'Earth will never be the same' - please, there was only two levels of it (which were more like 1 level split in half). Basically, for some reason, they took off in a completely different direction. You can say you liked it, I thought it killed the magic.
It might as well have been sold under a different title - apart from the fact it rehashed half of Halo 1.
