ok well there is alot of stuff missing form halo 2 which was in halo 1 this list is...

1-when u fire a stickey or a frag into more frags or stickys it resulted in a chain reaction which made the game more realistic was this in halo 2??? well it wasnt
2- when u drove a warthog in halo 1 into another warhog it flipped and u could do cool stunts was this in halo 2??? nope it wasnt
3- When u charged the plasma pistol up and fired it at an emeny it would kill it but in halo two the only thing that this can do is take down ur shields..
4- you were able to sit on the tank but in halo 2 u couldnt do this.....it makes no sense
5- the cool passanger view which was for the warthog in halo 1 was replaced with a more unrealistic view...
6-The sniper in halo 1 had night vision but this didnt appear in halo 2 another great thing that was removed and also it told you the distance ur target was away
7-another thing was that the vechials has a heath bar which made more sense as in halo 2 you can shoot the motors as much as you want and they wont blow up provied that u dont die then they blow up......i perfered the only health system more

nopebut it made more sense having it and why does the sniper not have night vision.....? like i said earlier does anyone want to join my group the undergr0und allianace?.....i think that u should be able to toggle these health bars for multiplayer in halo 3 tou

The only thing I cared about out what you just said was about the sideseat in the warthog. Bungie should keep it 3rd person, it was impossible to shoot anything with the warthog bouncing around.

I agree with everything the topic creator brought up except the vehicle health bars. In addition to that:

-Melees should be quicker, smoother, and have a longer range than it did in Halo 2. It was good in Halo, but almost geometric(well, technically it's all geometric) in Halo 2. I miss the whole concept of meleeing a enemy with the Shotgun, followed by a immediate shot in Halo. Or run out of ammo, bash a enemy, then shoot a round while he's stunned.

-Flashlight-Halo's. Real tactical lights are more powerful than Halo's flashlight. In Halo 2, the thing goes out every 5 seconds and you couldn't see four feet in front of you!

-Active Camo and Overshields in Campaign. If you think that's "unrealistic", then put in a container crate that holds the Camo or Overshield charge.

-The original Halo Shotgun should return. Anything but Halo 2's Shotgun.

-The explosions of Frag Grenades and Rockets should be like Halo. It was more realistic, whereas in Halo 2 it looked like a incendiary burst of a fireball and smoke.

-Sniper Rifle-Should be the original. It was hopelessly weak in Halo 2, for a gun of that caliber to take 2-3 shots to kill a Grunt/Jackal.

-Needler-Like the original Halo Needler, with better homing needles. I miss the smoother firing rate, and exploding corpses. Why is it, that the needles don't explode on you in Halo 2?

Marines-Don't really care, as long as the AI is better. But I like their armor better in Halo. It looked more original.

Pistol-Let's not go here and say that there should be a pistol more powerful than the M6C, but not as capable as the M6D.

Stop complaining and go play Halo 1. If not of this is in Halo 3, it wont bother me, you could go play your Halo 1 while me, and many other people will be playing Halo 3.

They need the pistol (or one just as powerful). i miss feeling like a one handed sniper.

Well. I feel that you stated the right objects to fix, but you fixed them the wrong way.

1) This did happen, and in both games it only happens in campaign.

2) True, the bouncy physics which i enjoyed so much in halo 1 are gone. But, the new physics make things a little less hectic when it comes to vehicles crashing.

3) The Plasma pistol doesnt exactly need to do damage to make it a good weapon, although, i think it should have less tracking or less speed. I do think it is kinda wierd that a large plasma charge wouldnt hurt you. It is plasma and it should hurt a hell of alot. But it is a game, and balance must be considered.

4) Not really a big deal unless playing co-op. And in both games you were unable to in multiplayer.

5) It may be more realistic, but either way no one really shoots from the side seat. I feel that the 3rd person allows for better judgement of position of the vehicle.

6) I would like to see NV return, but it isnt a necesity.

7) I personally want health bars for the vehicles. It was more realistic, and it is nice that you can focus on killing the vehicle rather than focusing on killing the people inside.

[edit] I would also like to see a new pistol. A 5 shot pistol with no scope. It would have less of a range of effectiveness, but be remeniscent of the pistol.

oversheild on convenant places.(no active camo because elites have active camo built in their suit)
better shotgun
1st person in warthog (at least make it a option that u can toogle on off)
personally i wuldnt mind if ghost was in first person either.

plasma pistol needs more speed and less tracking. if the reticule isnt red the plasma pistol shuldnt track it. also a few shot with a plasma pistol to a unshielded person shuld kill them. and a few regualr shots shuld take out shield. im thinking 4 or 5 to take out sheild and one or 2 to kill them once sheild it off.

i agree with the vehicle thing. add health and depending on where it gets shot and with what it does different amounts of damage.

That would make the PP a little too powerful in my opinion. Maybe 4-5 for shields than 6-8 shots for no shields. The rapid firing of the PP wouldnt really make that too much effort. But even with those ratings it would make it better than the PR.

1-Uh...buddy, this was in Halo 2.
2-So you want unrealisitc physics back?
3-Agreed I guess.
4-Sitting in the side of the tank didn't really have a point, your prone to getting slaughtered easily. and most of all, sniped.
5-I suppose, but sitting something was almost impossible, it needs to be fixed if it is going to have a return.
6-Yes. Though there wasn't many night levels. I'd like to see the night vision back. Although I didn't see the point of distance teller, didn't make any sense.
7-What vehicle health system? Sure...in campaign you could blow up ghosts banshees and wraiths without the pilot taking damage along. But there was NO battle damage, just scarred remains after an explosion, nothing special. Play MP in Combat Evolved, everything lasts forever no matter what. unlike in halo2 with the ghsot gas tank, battle damage, and you can blow up any vehicle as long as the driver is dead.

Your entire post is invalid, except for a point or two.

seventh, I agree with frags, but the Rocket explsion was an improvement, it wasnt a clone of the frag. MElees are a lot quicker in Halo 2. Compare the MAgnum melee and the old pstol melee. Look which is faster. and the Sniper rifle....

I want new material in Halo 3, along with stuff from 1 and 2. But mostly new stuff to keep me entertained.
