Good thought. I like it. A little humor is good, but not in a desperate situation.

I agree. But I also think Larry the Cable guy should be a marine in Halo 3.GIT-R-DONE!:D

I want marines to be hopeless. Then their buddy dies next to him they get pissed and they get that charisma and they start fighting all badass again. Then after their victory they will crack some jokes.

The Occasional joke is fine, but just make the atmosphere of the game feel darker, the marines can start joking when you start winning, or a sargeant can be funny in a way that boosts moral or gives orders.

But i just thought the marines in Halo 1 were funnier, because they both had a sense of humor and relized that they were all going to die.

So you would get "SPLIT CHIN!

and "Were going to make it sir... arent we?"

I totally agree with this- that was one of the things that I thought when I first saw that E3 Halo 2 trailer all those years ago. There was a sense of low morale, and desperation that pervaded the whole thing that I really felt like was missing in the game. I don't think the humans seemed to have a care in the world, and it really just put the mood a bit off, especially when the Covenant were infiltrating New Mombasa. It's like everybody was having a great time.

I love halo the epic story and everything i have no complaints about the game other than the minor things bungie cannot help. (cheating ect ect)

are you aware that its spelled "etc."???

this might help explain

Are YOU aware that the first letter in every sentence is supposed to be capitolized? Also, there is an apostrophe in "it's". Let me explain; we started with two words, it and is. But because this is informal writing, we want to express it informally, so we omit a letter from the word is and note the omission with an apsotrophe.

Here, this might help.

Ouch...

i like hearing the marines "comments" and stuff while fighting... it gives you a reason to have them hang around. Like if marines were all like "oh noes!!!!" then i would just kill them all to get them to shut up

OK...time for me to throw in my two cents...I am a marine, I have been in combat situations, and yes, we crack jokes incessantly.

For the Marines' dialogue in H3, I don't think they should lighten up on the jokes, just include more serious talk like "covering fire!", "reloading!", or the occasional "holy !(@&$ @($&@#( !!!". In the two previous Halo games, the lack of variety in the dialogue ruined the realism.

Oh, and Sgt. Johnson should be a smacktalker to no end.
