I hate rushed topics! Please reinforce the rule. Thanks.

Yes, the one-liner thread I just posted was to initially show people how awful it is for people to rush topics -- I am aware of that. I wish dmbfan and GameJunkieJim (among other moderators) would reduce the spam in the Flood (and other forums).

It would also be nice if there was a "minimum of x words in your post" rule. I hate replies that are just "lol" or "I agree" or something of that sort.

Well there has been a-lot lately, The Flood...with other Forums are deteoriating in my opinion...and it is due in my opinion to the rush of newer members.

wait, you made a thread to promote getting rid of threads that do exactly what you did? umm...can you say hypocracy?

It's to show why threads with one line are annoying. It is the most effective way I could think of to demonstrate this. Is it hypocritical? I wouldn't say so.

If they were to start enforcing this rule again, every thread in the Flood would be locked. Please start enforcing it again!

He is proving his point through actions...I am also tired of seeing someone quoting you and just posting your quote with out saying one thing...It is just a quote and submit...That is not needed...if you can't help the situation with your own answer...don't steal others or re-post other(s).

Ha ha! Now I'll just say some more so I don't get punished for making too short a post. Is that ok? I'll presume it is.

I agree 100%. It is bothersome for people to not take time to properly respond.

I agree. Errr....Respectively, I agree Respectively. Although the idea of a minimum of 'x' amount of words may help people stop and think about what they post, there would still be people who would circumvent this. By circumventing the rule they would be creating more spam in their post. In the long run I don't see how that would help.

I see where you are coming from Gnome...but I am tired of seeing people trying to fit their entire post into the subject and just put a simple "Post your opinion" or "What do you think?" without actually giving some background information.

Yes, lets say the minimum is 25 characters, so instead of having threads like:
Subject: What is that thing over there?
Well?

There would be:
Subject: What is that thing over there?
Well???????????Flebol.Flabel??????

The minimum rule wouldn't really solve anything. In fact I can't think of anything new that could be implemented into the site that would help this problem. The only thing is good old fashioned moderating. Then again, I could just not be thinking creatively enough.

Haha, exactly. Almost none of the threads have any real point anymore except for about 20 people to have a blog/chatroom.

Well look at it like this Gnome...if someone can't wright two good sentences about their Subject...it shouldn't be posted.

Exactly. But those people who can't wright two sentences don't realize this, and thus they post. Which leads straight back to good old fashioned moderating.

Agreed...I think that if the moderators started heavily enforcing this and started banning people, that it would limit the sudden rush of garbage. Especially in the Flood where there is all sorts of nasty posts and the sort.

The one-liner rule isn't really a rule. I thought I removed that one. It's a silly rule.

It might be a silly rule...but shouldn't it be considered spam if the topic has no real direction with a one-liner? Or take for example a topic like: "What do you think about PS3?" and they just post the idea of the topic: "Well?" instead of giving a reasonable list of pro's/con's...

I know this is asking a majority of people to grow up and post with thought behind each topic...but I think it should be brought back. That or heavier moderation of The Flood.

Bah! Stosh, your rules are never silly! Perhaps you should consider your current state of mind. Have you been spending a lot of time with Yoozel?

You think the Flood is bad? Hardly compared to the Halo 3 forum. That place is like a dumping ground for idiots. "How Does Cheif (Go To The Bathroom/Eat)," or "Halo 3 VS. PS3," or some stupid -blam!- like that. That place is terrible. Not to mention the atrocious grammar.

This is the official Bungie website. How positive is it for the company to host a forum filled with threads like "Do you like ketchup?" or something else of that sort?

I don't find the rule to be silly at all. Bungie should not be a place that majorly hosts spam.
