I just refreshed the page to see if new posts were there or something, and it looked like that. I hit refresh again and it said access error.. and i had to go to the homepage.

If its just some kind of cache error, or refresh error, ok, but where did it get those images to use in place of the normal ones for sticky and stuff? It had to get em from somewhere.. the internet doesnt create imgs...

Just curious.

It's probably been provided by Ideal Science, in place of the old ones just in case of a system timeout. Probably the B.net servers were down temporary and you were the one to see the result of it I dunno...

no, it happened very shortly ago. And I asked everyone in #MOAP if anything was wrong and they thought I was high.

Ideal Science wouldnt provide images for bungie....

they had to be on the server from somewhere.. my question is wha thappened, and what are those icons from? Some MUCH MUCH older version?

It was from your moms version of Gnop.

Ideal Science provides most things for B.net such as their engines for the forums and such, just because B.net has a forum doesn't mean they made it themselves, which is why I think it's something from Ideal Science. It's very likely that it could be from an earlier build of B.net and a rare bug caused you to access them. I'm still guessing that the images are from Ideal Science or an earlier build of B.net because templates don't just poof onto the internet ya know!

OK, my guess is an older version as well.. but from when.

See, the ideal science idea is kinda wack. If youve worked with web development or forum softwares you would know. They designed the software for it and its functionality.. for a good deal anyway. But Achronos put in the graphics and a lot more functionality changes.

They support more than just bunige.. and other sites dont have "Stickies" or the new and old topic icons.. so they would not provide them at all. Those are things bungie has. Especially the colors and such. Its just not plausible...

Somehow they are on the b.net server and I got access to em for one page reload.. just wondering how and where they are from.. but they cant be from ideal science.. its just not ... logical.

who says the servers are with Bungie? maybe Evil Fluffy broke the forums after all....then again who knows...?

I know a bit about Bulletin Board software, in my experience when you subscribe to their services they hand you a package. Basically it's a bundle of things needed to start up a forum, I guess Achronos customized it for his own use like all would, but in a most case it's always someone who designs the backbone for the forums to at least function and it's the subscriber that takes it to the next level, if he wishes, I bet if you google that image you might get some hits.

You look for too much attention ..... You've seen achronos mention caching errors all the time , you really need him to tell you that THAT is the case here ?

Lose the sig ... its annoying

The IdealScience software we have is not something you can buy - we paid them to develop forum software for us. They then used this base to develop their current ASP.NET forum product they sell to others.

We worked very closely with them, and I have made numerous changes to the source code of the system to make it work with our account, content, security, and rendering systems (among other things).

Most likely, what you saw was some CSS foul up that either scaled the images down or caused your browser to not be able to load the images. In that case, your web browser displayed the text version of things. If it happens again, try and send a screenshot and some reproducible steps to bnetbugs@microsoft.com.

dude, russo.. wtf?

I wasnt worried about chaching issues dude...

I was curious how those images appeared and after that other guy started talking, what the story was behind it all.

He is the only person who could answer, so therefore I had hoped he would answer.

Stop flaming people who dont deserve it please. Its not nice, its not cool. And you are no better for it.
