A. How would they vote in the middle of a match without being extremely distracting?
B. If the team doesn't allow them to quit, then they could begin team killing and killing themselves.
C. A better solution, if someone quits then their level goes down a level. Then de-levelers would quit at the beginning of the game (which would suck) but the match would be 3 on 4 and the shortsided team would still have a chance to win. The de-levelers would lose their level quicker that way, so you wouldn't have to play a whole game with someone killing themselves.

I agree with this guy, pretty good ideas, but I think there should be a better way of dealing with delevers, rather than just giving them what they want, maybe ban them for a week if they have a negative score?

I agree with you, I just came up with that idea as I was typing my response. Maybe if we combine the two of our responses it would be better. If someone quits in a ranked game, their level goes down for the inconvenience to the rest of the people in the game. However, if they quit a given amount of times within a certain period of time (3 or so times within an hour) then the banhammer would recognize them as a de-leveler and ban them for a week. Nothing permanent, but enough to agrivate them as much as they agrivate us.

you would also have to consider people just turning off thier console and restarting a new match instead!

The banhammer would keep track of your gamertag. If a gamertag quits three or so ranked matches in an hour, it would ban them.

I think the time penalty is the best idea I've heard so far. So when you quit, you'd have to wait a short amount of time before you could enter MM again. If you did it again, this time would increase. So anyone who has to go and do something wouldn't be affected, only people who go from game to game quitting every time they go a few kills down or lose a round etc.

Yahtzee!!!!! Perfect idea. And I have another one, don't make Quit Game an option in the start menu during a game. If someone needs to leave or quit a game, they turn off their console.

I quit when there's cheaters in the game. I quit when my team is down 2 vs. 4 (most of the time.) You can't penalize people for quitting. Why not have a bot replace the quitter? Someone else had this idea, and it makes perfect sense. The bot replacement would be effective based on the quitters rank. Assuming the 360 has the horsepower, you could give the bot verbal commands (e.g. cover me, attack, guard the base, etc.)

That way, everyone wins.

What about betraying and getting booted? I think they should just hide ranks so that it's the same as it is now but you can't "see" your rank. It would reduce the number of cheaters and delevelers. But I doubt it will happen.

Yeah, I just randomly thought some things. Come to think of it, it is kind of a dumb idea...

I applaud you for your realization.

See, I think that's just ridiculous. A ban? For quitting? I'm sorry, but if I'm playing Halo, and my phone rings, and it's important, I'm going to leave the game. My life does not go on hold for Halo. I'm fine losing a rank or a level or experience, any of that stuff is ok with me- but banning me because my life doesn't revolve around winning and losing on Matchmaking? That's a little absurd.

If you read my previous posts, you would see that I stated it would ban you for multiple quits within an hour. Quitting for an important phone call or whatever wouldn't get you banned. Look back at my previous posts to clarify things.

Even so- what's the deciding number? 3? 4? What if someone's connection is bad and they lag out? What if there are power failures? I think attaching a number can be dangerous to that, especially when we're talking about bans.

You are focusing way too much on a minor detail. I said three just to throw out a number. The main point in this whole hypothetical scenario was for people that repeatedly quit to be punished. Since we are talking about in a given hour, the number could be as high as ten for all I care. That wasn't the part of the scenario I was focusing on.

NLANE1284 i like your idea on being banned for leaving so many games... but not permanent ban. maybe an hour or so... but not leaving 3 games every hour.. more like more than 3 every 10-15 mins.. cause then you would be a de leveler.. now how would you stop the de levelers if you only get banned for an hour or so.. im not sure yet.. ill leave bungie up to that.... oh also

somone said that if you left a game you would loose a rank... not a bad idea... but i get cut off from my net every now and then for reasons unknown... i dont feel like loosing a rank because my net decided to crap out on me

All I can think of is make it with team balance on, so if it's uneven, one dude has to sit out. Not allowing people to quit is just retarded.
