Those danm prophets know whats going on. (at least the One left does)
They sent the brutes to activate the rings knowing that they were going to the only place safe from the blast.
I quote " this time none of you will survive!" thats from a prophet to the chief right before he died.
He obviously knew what the halos do.

The gravemind does have control over cortanna, but he isnt a computer he cant mind read. He only telleported chief and the arbitor because he had control over the obviouly insane 2401 penitant tangent. I think penitnat tangent, guilty sparks, or more likely the coventant construct that corttana encountered at the end of halo 2 when she was trying to tape into the arks mainframe; is messing with her head. " for a covenant construct is quite formiddable"- One thing to take away from this is i dont think gravemind is magic.

Humans are the reclaimers. I have no idea if we are infact the forrunner, but i would put a shinny nickle on it. either way we have something to do with the past of the rings. Guilty sparks knows it, penitant knows it, and the prophets know it, were the only ones out of the loop. seems like everyone, but us knows were special. I know im special (ladies ;) ) Why do you think we are called demon scum by the covies. i would say its because the prophet know what we are and dont want us to take our possitions as reclaimers... Oh and the only ones who can activate the rings are humans. remember from halo 2. thats why they kept johnson and keyes alive.

In game antics:

I read something off bungie stating that in single player testing the man playing was sorounded by "a bunch of grunts and something um.....bigger" and it didnt suprise me that they would have new characters, but what caught my eye was the fact that grunts would be shooting at you. by my count both characters chief and the arbitor will be friends with the grunts... Maby Just Maby we'll be able to to play as Brutes!.... lol just a wish... but i would be stoked to play as a giant hairy beast with muscles the size of the chief head and be able to melee the crap out of an apponents nogin.

Oh last but certainly not least my spelling sucks and... The thing in the mexican sand looks like the weapon on from independance day... only upside down... I think for the spoof ending like in the first halo they should have a grunt strapped witha nuke fly into the center of the thing and scream " In the words of my Generation. UP YOURRRRSSSS!"... just a thought.

Actually.... I think you just proved your point with out really knowing it. If the Prophet really did say to the Chief " This time..none of you will survive".....then logically that would mean two things:
1. The Prophets do know that the rings destroy all life when activated.
2. The Humans survived the first time the rings were activated, indicating that they were in the ark and most likley are Forerunners.

Although....I still believe mostly in the time loop scenario as Guilty Sparks had told the Chief that he had met them before and they had held a discussion.

The quote, "and this time, none of you will survive," was referencing Regret's previous attempt to attack Earth.

"Hey, where's your friend going?"
"Earth, and this time none of you will survive."

Helps when you put those quotes in context instead of just pulling them at random out of thin air.

If I did that I could put together a string of quotes that made Halo sound like some sort of Japanese monster cartoon.

the problem with that is they didnt know that humans were on earth the first time... that frase could be used in a few diffrent ways, but i interperated its as he knew...wait i just proved my self wrong.. if they had know we were the reclaimers then they would hav known we were on earth... danm im so confused.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

"Hey, where's your friend going?"
"Earth, and this time none of you will survive."

That is not what they say:

MC: "Your pal, wheres he going"?

Regret: "Earth! To finish what we started, and this time none of you will be left behind".

This does not prove anything.

your right i shouldnt have quoted that its kindof a missunderstood and multi interpreted phrase.

anyway.

"The thing in the mexican sand looks like the weapon on from independance day... only upside down... I think for the spoof ending like in the first halo they should have a grunt strapped witha nuke fly into the center of the thing and scream " In the words of my Generation. UP YOURRRRSSSS!"... just a thought. "

any thoughts on a funny ending?
