I have noticed something a little odd. If you read a part of the Halo 1 manual about the plasma rifle, it says that the humans don't know how to reload it, so thats why they throw the old ones away. But in Halo 2, you play as an Arbiter, and he dosn't even know how tto relode them either. And I know Bungie made it that way for game play purposes, but Its just something I noticed and decided to share =).

And just on the side. Its odd how in the cutscene were Tarturas (or whatever) says he was orderd to kill the Arbiter. He acted all surprised, but he was told that the Arbiter was a scuicidle warrior, and he was going to die eather way. And he was just lucky he survived to that point.(and I wounder what the Arbiter's name is??)

Nothing personal...

Yeah that is pretty wierd. I do like the idea that they're "disposable" weapons though.

Well when he says things like that, he better have a backup source of offical information. And to give some advice, try to type a little better.

And could we stay on topic?

well, I speculate that Cov weapons have a plasma core which stores a certain amount of plasma. Its too ineffiecent to make cartridges, because the core is unstable. The weapons can be recycled, like bottles, but its so easy for the Cov. to produce them that they don't bother reusing them.

Way I figured it...

Even the Covies don't know how to recharge them. It is Forerunner tech, and it'd be "heresy" to improve upon it, if this is like anything else the Covies stole from them.

HERE:

The concept art also shows the words Earth_Ark_09. This refers to the original 9-level Halo 2 concept. In the DVD, Joseph Staten explained the original 9 level design of Halo 2 and mentioned a "grand conclusion" on Earth. The other words in the screen capture, "Chief" and "Dervish" refer to the characters involved. Dervish was the Arbiter's original name. Both the Halo 3 trailer and the concept art here show clear similarities in geographical surroundings and structure. This evidence makes it likely that the structure in the announcement trailer is, or is related to, the Ark.

wikipedia told me. and they got it from the bonus DVD

you should know better than to doubt the likes of me

I am...whimsical today.

I guess Humans don't know how to reload plasma weapons because the Covenant don't either. They may not have changeable power cells, but perhaps those racks they come in are chargers? Its a theory someone came up with ages ago.

As for the surprise, he is not too surprised at dying, but at being betrayed by the Prophets.

With great challenge can come great reward

maybe someone already said this, but maybe the reason he didnt reload the plasma rifles was because he didnt have ammo? I don't know its probably just because of gameplay

Thanks. I needed my hourly putdown.

Can we at least try to keep on topic instead of argueing? I'm sure the origonal poster didn't want this to degrade into a flame war.

Thats quite a good theory Dark Coyote. Since you would think It would be easier for the cov to transport large amounts of amunition with some extra wepons than to transport all disposable wepons. But if the plasma in them is to unstable, it would be better to make them disposable. Or mabey its just to difficult to change the amunition in plasma wepons to even bother. But what about the Carbine, it has exchangable amunition?

The Covie Carbine doesn't seem to shoot plasma as much as just projectiles. Perhaps the Covies are starting to adapt a bit of human technology as well... I may be wrong, of course.
