I thought that Zuka Zamamee or something was the Arbitor... or did he die in the turret (from First Strike)

I thought Zuka got pwnt by MC...

Yes MC pwned zuka, in the level the maw. I don't remember if this happened in the game or not but; Zuka came up an elevator in a shade with a few grunts. MC stepped back and sent the elevator back down and tossed a plasma grenade down, and killed Zuka. Not the greatest battle scene but it works. Oh and that was in the Flood, not First Strike.

It is not Dervish that was the name bungie was suppose to call him but they changed it to arbiter and did not reveal his real name. They changed it because it might offend the Muslims

Everything offends Muslims I think. Hell, I probably just offended one right there.

I don't believe that Bungie actually released the Arbiter's actual name. I personally call him "Fuzzy", but that's just me.

Impresive Iceman. Wiki knows all lol. Its just when you read the books and the description on the Heritic Leader toy, they usally have a ee at the end of their name. But we can't say yet that Dervish is his offical name yet, because things can change over time. But thats nice anyway =)

Their names are so annoying. It's always an apostrophie, then a 4 letter word, then gibberishee.

Stupid elites.

And nobody liked my idea on the carbine. Now I go back to hide under a rock again.

*sigh*

HERE:

The concept art also shows the words Earth_Ark_09. This refers to the original 9-level Halo 2 concept. In the DVD, Joseph Staten explained the original 9 level design of Halo 2 and mentioned a "grand conclusion" on Earth. The other words in the screen capture, "Chief" and "Dervish" refer to the characters involved. Dervish was the Arbiter's original name. Both the Halo 3 trailer and the concept art here show clear similarities in geographical surroundings and structure. This evidence makes it likely that the structure in the announcement trailer is, or is related to, the Ark.

wikipedia told me. and they got it from the bonus DVD

you should know better than to doubt the likes of me

I think they meant they were going to name the character The Dervish, instead of The Arbiter. I don't think that means that was the Arbiter's elite name. Dervish doesn't sound anything like any of the other elite names. Read this.

I would think that being powered by a battery, you don't reload them so much as you would recharge them, therefore it cannot be done in battle. Maybe there are charging stations on Covenant ships or something?

Mabey in Halo 3, in a covenant ship level, they can have plasma reloading stations for the plasma stations, but the Carbine can reload without a problem, so why not others...hmmm.

Thats quite a good theory Dark Coyote. Since you would think It would be easier for the cov to transport large amounts of amunition with some extra wepons than to transport all disposable wepons. But if the plasma in them is to unstable, it would be better to make them disposable. Or mabey its just to difficult to change the amunition in plasma wepons to even bother. But what about the Carbine, it has exchangable amunition?

The Covie Carbine doesn't seem to shoot plasma as much as just projectiles. Perhaps the Covies are starting to adapt a bit of human technology as well... I may be wrong, of course.

Mebbe?

carbine can relode because it is a solid projectile that doesn have any danger of burning through the container thats holding it.

""In the Elite culture, names are considered a privilege. Only things of importance are named. The Elites generally consider humans to be nameless, and resent the fact that humans have assigned the label "Elite" to them, as humans have no standing to be naming things.

Because names are important to the Elite society, each element of the name has a meaning. Elite names are contructed from a series of parts. An example is Ado 'Mortumee. "Ado" is his given name, which is all he had until he was considered an adult. As an adult he earned the right to carry the badge name "'Mortumee". This name is made up of three parts: MOR (an adjectival descriptor, such as "fast", or "deadly"), TUM ( a créche name, basically his family name), and EE (an honorific indicating he is a participant in the military). Most Elites will have names with this kind of construction.""

Thanks NLANE1284 for this very intristing information. But I wonder if they will reveal the Arbiters name in Halo 3. And I wonder If the Arbiter will change his armour, because he is no longer part of the covenant, mabey he will wear armour more suited to his home planet?

Or perhaps armor that's not so ancient and outdated and obsolete.

But only if they updated MC's too. You know, for the sake of balance?

Also if you look at all the plasma wepons, they have a spacing were the plasma comes from. Mabey it sort of works like a electricity + and - thing. And thats how it can hold all the plasma. So when the positive and negitive meet, it creats plasma, and shoots. Mabey thats why you can't reload it. Because the 2 end cant meet intill fire, because if they met inside the gun, it would explode in your hands. So if you wanted to reload, you would have to put in two sepreat clips, and that wouldn't really be pissible in the middle of a fight.

Actually, that reminds me of a theory somebody else stated... somewhere... else...

Rather than trying to store plasma (a rather difficult thing to do), the plasma-based weapony actually produce it on it's own. The 2 seperate parts are actually electrodes. Electricity flows between the two, plasma is made inbetween, plasma shoots out in a straight line towards the target. You can "overcharge" by accumilating more plasma before ejecting it, or overheat the weapon by overusing the electrodes until they are too hot to function.

Covies got batteries!

So basicaly, covy wepons are electrical based. I think were onto something EvilKitty! lol
But then how can you explain the carbine?

Projectile weapon! AAAAAAGRGR!

Kinda like the fuel rod launcher, but without the massive explosion part.

And I have no clue about the Needler. Not even gonna try on that one.

i have two explanations (either one may be right or wrong i dont know)

1. halo 2 was rushed (because the release date was too early) although i doubt this because they had obviously finished the campaign and were only doing the easter eggs. or (highly unlikely) it was entirely forgotten. this could probably be fixed by an auto update though

2. it's forerunner technology, they dont know how to use it. but at the same time, what about the needler? is that forerunner technology? the plasma pistol and the needler can both home in slightly. the difference is that the needler can bounce. which also brings in the plasma grenade... is that also forerunner or was that made by the covenant? how can you program a grenade to determine what is living against what is being used by the living (a vehicle)?
