Yeah, I was always confused on Bungie's opinion about tricking. After all, they are going away from what the devoloper wanted, and Bungie does a lot to stop tricking. Well, I guess they don't mind from this interview, but then why do theydo everything to stop tricking? (like rocket charging)

About time...sheesh. Ducain is the man.

Ducain has some good vids on his site but the warthog launch still rules all IMO.

From the Update.

" I came to Halo late in the game, when my brother asked me to come over and play this amazing game on his 'Xbox' (huge black thing with controllers attached). At that time, the only other console games I'd played were Super Mario Brothers (remember that kids?), and Super Contra."

"I'm not kidding."

"So, to make a long story short, Halo hooked a 29 year old married guy, and I started getting together with my brother and playing co-op through the campaign levels (hence my love of the campaign gameplay to this day). After about a year, and after playing through the thing on Legendary so many times it became routine, our Thursday night campaign started slowing down. "

"We were hooked, and I was hooked bad. Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't stop bathing, grow ear hair (that much), or lose my family. It wasn't THAT bad, but still - I was loving this whole grenade + warthog thing."

Wow! That sounds exactly how i got started. Only I was 27 years old, and not 29.(I'm catchin you though...ha,ha) and I got Xbox and Halo @ Launch, not late,(The Bundle) I remember cause my Bundle didn't come with Halo. I was so upset, (I don't know why cause I hadn't had interest in a vid game in about 5 yrs. or so) so I went to a certain game store and asked if I could trade the 3 games my bundle came with for Halo? The guy felt so bad,(I played him like a violin in other words) That he took 1 game for an even trade! The rest is History. I turned 32 years old today.

Thanks Bungie for almost 5 Awesome Years of the greatest Video game ever made !
I'm only hoping there will be a new "greatest game ever" when Halo 3 launches.

I think Bungie has always encouraged the use of tricks, glitches, and even mods. Just not during any sort of competetive play in any matter. I'm sure they despise it during competetive play infact. But I don't think they have anything against these things for personal amusement, they probably enjoy what "we" are able to do with their game outside competetive play.

Most marriage is based on love. If two people really love each other, gender should have no baring at all.

That warthog on the front... dude thats awesome. I was just playing Need For Speed 3 and in Halo, you should be able to unlock extras, like tricking out a warthog! I know it sounds a little lame.... but it would be cool, as long as it didn't interfere with the game at all, just an extra little thing. Or even better, to buy the warthog tricking game of XBL Marketplace! ZOMG. 73|-| 5|-|1ZZ13! WHAT!?

Yum.

Ducain is egotistical. I have emailed him before, he can be a bit of a jerk sometimes.

  • 07.10.2006 9:51 PM PDT

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

What? Ducain is one of the most level-headed guys out there. I'm often thankful that he unofficially has domain over the tricking community. At least he frequently reminds everyone that Halo is a game, and games are meant to be fun. The bickering and recognition often kill that sentiment.

Regarding Bungie and tricking.

Of course they don't mind us messing up what they spent years to perfect. If they did, would Halo 2 have hidden skulls on every level, the world's most overpowered weapon, and a giant football?
