I was reading Halo:The Flood again and I just wanted to ask people here if they could get through the Library without shields? Why? Because in the book, a Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto was able to get very far in the Library. Think you could do it too? And to any military personnel, do you think you could do it in real life? Just asking.

umm the level perhaps... and no in the game I do not hink I could make it far in that level without my shields. As for real life I don't think I would make it far, all I would be able 2 do is hold onto my shot gun tight and try my best 2 keep the floob at bay. (been around guns all my life and am great with guns as well but givin a life and death sich against things like the flood...I could not last long)

But he's still talking about the Halo Books, not Halo PC related topics.

Anyway, considering how I'm overweight, have no experience with firearms, and inexperienced in combat, I probably wouldn't make it far.

Oh I would whip some Flood ass in real life. I would run in there, unarmed, dropkick the first one I saw, then make it up as I went on from there. I see myself beating the whole game like that. 8-)

There isn't any Halo Books forum section.
Wow, you and I are like twins.

Have you been eating those marijuana muffins again, new420? Because it's quite unlikely that you would be able to take down hordes of dangerous armed Flood with no fire arms. Even with Master Chief's suit and his muscles that can kill eight feet tall elite with one whack to the back with the butt of his rifle takes about a dozen melees or so to take down one Flood zombie.

And Tedi Slayer, he could have put this thread in the Underground.

Lol muffins? Nah. Brownies? Maybe. And you're right, I wouldnt survive unarmed, so I would be sure to equip myself with my trusted whiffle ball bat, Stew. Say hello, Stew.

Stew: Err...hello.

8-)

Oops, sorry, I didn't know that this was considered Bungie General. Maybe it'll be moved by a moderator or an administrator.

Heh heh heh, I'd go equipped with a Scarab Gun, but since they didn't exist at the time, I would go in with an M6D and an Energy Sword.

I'm off for now to Halo PC.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Well, since it wasnt real, of course he could make it that far. But I didnt like the second halo book that well. The first one was amazing, and helped the series make more sense, and the 3rd one explains what happens after the first halo, and how Johnson lives aside from the fact that hes Johnson.

The few, the proud, the leet.

The books are just a fanfic. The Flood is the worse and has several flaws in its design that shows the author didn't pay attention to the game itself, but instead made up his own little story as he went along.

I beat the game on heroic while playing as a marine. It was really hard because every time you get shot, you can't shoot anymore. I destroyed 2 mouses, and a keyboard from frustration. Heh, and I thought i could beat Legendary as a marine.

The only way I know of is to disable checkpoints, and use Bump possession with dev trainer. I don't know how you would disable checkpoints..
I would guess that he used an editing program to change the biped into a marine.

the flood would be easier to fight then it would with terrorists. Because terrorists take very powerful morphene and other drugs so when they get shot it doesn't affect them and they keep moving. But with the flood all you gotta do is give em a good blast in the stomache and they are down for the count.

Yeah I think a blast from a shotty to the torso would keep a terrorist down no matter how much morphine he took.

But you guys also must consider that the marines in halo were the best of the best, and thats pretty good considering how many worlds humans have populated. I cant help it that Master Chief got stuck with the "special" marines. In the book, the -blam!- commander didnt like chief and mightve sent him the crappy marines. I would kill 8 flood with my shotgun, but then I would go down as I reloaded. Master Chief must make them reappear in his hand, because it takes me about 30 seconds just to get two shells in there.

Actually, the Flood would be at about the same level as terrorists, as they are somewhat the same. Remember that the Flood swarm all over the damn place and don't give up, unlike unprepared or unwilling terrorists. The Flood also have the same suicidal disposition that terrorists have, and also have exploding Carrier forms among their ranks, such as suicide bombers. There have been some rare cases where the Flood's intended victim is mutated, but not psychologically controlled, such as a terrorist joining, only to turn against his fellow companions. One of these rare cases is actually Private Jenkins. Also remember that the Flood can reinfect downed members as long as their body isn't in many different pieces, and the Flood are also very similar to terrorists, as when they take a shot, they either die or keep coming. If you blew off a terrorist's arm, he'd be screwed, but the Flood still have the other arm. Let's also not forget that the Flood can jump higher than hell, smack harder than hell, and like I said, they really live up to their name. The Flood would be a little harder than terrorists, but probably not better.
Here's a comparison betweem terrorists and the Flood:
Infection Forms=Terrorist Propaganda
Combat Forms=Terrorists
Carrier Forms=Suicide Bombers
The Flood swarm, don't die easy, and don't really respond to bodily harm or getting beat up.
Terrorists are sneaky, suicidal, and don't respond to bodily harm or peace talks.
Pretty even, and I have no idea as to who would win in a match.
And remember, Halo 2 allows vehicle operation to the Flood, so terrorist T-62s and Technicals would need to be on the lookout for Gauss "Hogs, Scorpions, and Wraiths.

If you are a combat veteran, Spartan 19283746, I am in no way insulting your service to your country. If so, what branch?
