Hey guys. I've got an interesting question. Since the elites, grunts, and hunters are now your allies, isn't that going to make halo 3 much easier? I mean, come on, if you're only going to fight Brutes, jackals, drones, and a single prophet, that should be easy street. Sheesh, in Halo 3, you're going to have elites, grunts, hunters, marines, ODST's, and possibly other Spartan's on your side. Against brutes and jackals? They don't stand a chance. Bungie's really going to have to introduce a lot of new enemies into the latest Halo series, or it just seems like this is going to be an easier game than most people thought...

i dont know about an alliance. MC was fighting grunts on earth, according to the update. if grunts are indeed tied to elites ala the alliance, then i doubt theres an understanding between these crazy aliens

Not quite so, Associate. Frankie was fighting Grunts, it doesn't say who or what he was playing as. We assume it was Cheif, but we don't know.

so guys, do you think Halo 3 will be easier if the elites, etc. are you're allies? I mean, when sergeant johnson teamed up with the arbiter, they forged the alliance. and when you played as the arbiter on great journey, the hunters and grunts were your allies....

You think Halo 3 is going to be easier because of a few new and not yet confirmed allies? I think not.

Sure, the Covvie Separatist could help a whole damn lot, but what has Truth really got up his sleeve? Wave after wave of Brutes? A big smashy hulk like thing?

It isn't going to be easier, to be honest, if it is.. it'll ruin my day.

youve got to remember that the Coveneant race is going to be split on the issue. some will belive that they shoud follow the prophets and everyone who doesnt is a heretic, and others wil follow the arbiter and MC. plus, it was said before that the game was going to be packed with enemies, even though i couldnt find out where it said that. and who knows what will crawl out of whatever that thing in in the teaser, Bungie will impress. Thats for sure.

*Bangs head against wall*

Look, there is NO evidence that the excised Covenant are allied with the humans, and all the evidence and common sense against it. First, we have not heard from Bungie that we are allied with the Covenant. That settles the debate right there. Until Bungie says it exists, it doesn't exist.

And don't give me "but the Arbiter and Johnson..." crap. That was a temporary alliance, forged out of desperation to keep the hell monkey from making the universe go boom. For all we know, Arby will try to kill Johnson as soon as they are off the ring, if even that.

The allied elites in the fight against Tartarus are all high-ranking elites. This is very important; older elites, if they have a lifespan like humans, were already around and possibly even adults before the start of the Human v Covenant war. I base this estimate on that Elites advance based on how many humans they have killed, and it takes time to gather the thousands of kills that I read took to gain the privilege of wearing gold armor. They haven't been subjected to the propaganda their whole lives, as the young'uns have. I'll get back to that in a minute. As they lived through a period before anti-human propaganda, the "human=evil" line may not be ingrained in their heads fully. Or, they simply see the firing of Halo as a more pressing matter, so they put aside the feud, ignoring the gaping plot hole that is the fact that there was no time for the Arbiter to brief these elites, let alone time for them to digest that, accept it, then high-tail it over to the control room.

On to the juicy bits. As I mentioned earlier, young elites (again, this is all assuming that the Elite lifespan is similar to humans) have lived their entire lives in propaganda. This goes for Grunts and Hunters as well. They may simply be unable to accept to idea of siding with humanity for any reason. (I can't use the analogy I'd like to, as it may be a blacklistable offense, so you're on your own there) So, these elites (and Grunts and Hunters) are more likely to simply go rogue and fight both the Prophet/Brute led Covenant and the humans at the same time.

They could start giving the brutes overshields like the elites had since they are the new top dogs of the Covenant. Think about it, brutes...with overshields. Holy Jesus tiddy-f'n Christ, easier my ass...

Umm what the hell are you talking about? The weekly updates made it pretty clear that they are not allied with the humans in any shape or form.

Have you ever played as the Arbirter? you had grunts, jackals, and elites on your team but you still had to fight other Elites and Grunts.
IF that is IF their is an alliance it will be between the Humans and the Covenant Separtists most likely led by Arbirter and Half-Jaw, many Elites have been suspicious of the Prophets when the Brutes became Honor Gaurds.

Don't forget about the Flood and the Sentinals you still have those to fight, do you think Gravemind is going to sit there while you eradicate the Covys?
Who knows what gaurds the Ark...

It'd certainly be more boring.

Those are by far the best enemies. I can't believe we won't get to fight them properly.

Im not trying to assume anything, and im certainly against it, but bungie is NOT going to tell you whether or not whose going to be your allies or enemies, but the elites, etc. still might be your allies. if not, that's better, im just posting an idea. I like fighting the elites best in halo, too.
