One of my real hopes for Halo 3 is that it really brings the feeling of gravity and weight into the gameplay.

Now, in my view, Halo 2 is a great game for the manner in which the animations for the characters really convince you (most of the time) that they are walking, running and jumping around the level/environment in question. I was playing Prey multiplayer recently and, although the single-player campaign is very nice, the animations for the characters in multiplayer are very poor. It doesn't look like the characters are there at all; they kind of ice-skate around the level... (sorry Prey)

Anyway, I would really like Halo 3 to further focus on the feeling of weight, movement and gravity in both the campaign and multiplayer components of the game. It'd be nice to see little things like the MC's knees bend slightly when he lands after a short jump. The higher the fall.... the greater the stress should be on his movements when he lands.

This should also follow through to the way in which his posture might change for different weapons and, of course, the melee attacks for each weapon.

Further attention should be spent on ensuring consistency between the reload animations for both first and third person perspectives. Currently, the animations differ between these perspectives and it would be nice to see them synchronised perfectly in Halo 3.

Of course, the gravity and weight issues in the Halo universe are different to those in, say, World War 2 shooter games. That's something else to bear in mind. What does it really FEEL like to be in the Mjolnir armour suit? Can Bungie translate this into the game a little more with Halo 3 and the power of the 360?

These might sound like little things to some. For me.... they are part and parcel of the immersion in the game. Bungie are detail-heads though... :-)

I've noticed all the problems you speak of and they annoy me constantly, glad to find someone with similar problems with the game. I too hope that Bungie can turn Halo 3 into a true gaming masterpiece.
