Yeah, but we all thought that Johnson is death too, but Bungie had a idea and so johnson survive halo 1. So it can be with keyes, too.HE escaped off a Pelican, learn to read.
Keyes is dead. no HUMAN VITAL signs detected, he's all Flood at the point where Chief smashed him. His skull and brain matter is either nonexistant or changed by the Flood...either way it was then smashed by the Chief. THEN! Halo exploded into an explosion of 500 Hiroshima bombs(estimated). Over 100 million degrees, as told by Cortana. I doubt Keyes, or the Truth of Reconciliation could survive that. He's dead ok?
Don't bring up the "OMFG KEYS IS LIEK GRAVMIND TOATLY!" either.
Hey, WTF is going with you? We only speak about his ideas and when you dont like it - go away. I meanBungie does not adhere to the book. Linda is still alive in the book, but in the game, they say: He is the last Spartan!"
Well, the topic is "whether Keyes will return" and how he might return impossibly. I'd have to agree. Keyes is dead beyond any chance of survival. That is, unless the Keyes Flood pulled a 343 Guilty Spark(of which, Keyes, is still dead). The only way "Keyes will return" or "Gravemind is Keyes" is if the entity of each victim of the Flood is collectively telekinetically etched within a hive-mind. And it's slim to none such a thing would carry over halfway across the galaxy to Gravemind. Right in the very beginning of Halo 2, it is acknowledged that Keyes is dead. He's not returning(at least not in human form), and he's not Gravemind.
The MC was thought to be the last Spartan after the Reach Campaign. That is, until surviving Spartans are found on the partially-glassed Reach in First Strike. Bungie does not base their game directly off the novels, but technically they own the novels through the Halo Bible. And there are plenty of elements in the game that bear reference in the books. Whether Spartans will appear has yet to be one of them.
