Agnostics believe that it is impossible to determine whether there is or is not a God, therefore assuring they'll still make it to heaven when they die because they didn't doubt god, yet still "win" religion debates on forums by angsty teens who listen to ska.

I've wondered...what seperates Halo from other FPS games?... does bungie know what it is? Will the style be kept in halo 3? I hope so.
basically, what I'm trying to get at is this: why is halo so popular, while other FPSs lag behind? I think it' has to do with the following 10 reasons:
#1-weapons are "elemental" meaning that each weapon serves a purpose, and isn't just placed into the game for the heck of it. Like in farcry, there's 2 diferent sniper rifles, a bunch of machine guns...it makes things complex. keep it simple, so people can master the weapons. On top of that, you can only cary 2 weapons at one time. that' is, indeed a good thing. It adds stradagy to the game. you might need a good bullet sprayer, and a special gun just incase. it also means you don't have to cycle weapons. you know what other gun you have, and with the click of a button, you have it.
#2-The energy shield is a good thing. with other games, you have to find health packs, and other suck things. But in halo, you have a shield. you regain your health when your not in combat. Now, true, in Halo CE, you did have health packs, and "health" for that matter, but you still had a shield.
#3-storyline-great plot. other games can be very lacking
#4-enemys. yeah, In halo CE you only had to do battle with 4 different enemys. In halo 2, it increased to six. still no problem. the enemys repeat through the whole game, so you can learn how to kill them in the best way. In games like medal of honor, the enemys are just a bunch of humans, that change alot. you can't really adapt to them. Plus, in halo, the enemys are aliens. people, no matter what they say, for the most part, don't like kiling other people, even in games.
#5-epic feel to the game. your usually not stuck on the ground. you're usually some place really high, and awesome.
#6-physics-you can jump uber-high, and fly your wart hog around. this is indeed a good thing, because it means that you can get to places. you don't feel trapped in a box. In halo, if you can see it, you can get to it (with enough practice)
#7-no invisable walls-yeah, I've always hated invisable walls. they also make you feel "trapped" in the game. I haven't noticed any invisable walls (except for the wierd glitches in multiplayer I've seen...like the invisable ladder and sidewalk...
#8-clear objectives. for alot of FPSs that i have played, sometimes your not sure what to do. you get frusterated, and turn off the game. I've always know what to do in halo. it's CLEAR what's going on.
#9-The flood make halo a great game. not that the game hadn't already been doing this, but when you get to level 6, 343 guilty spark, you have that sense of horror, fear, and mystory all at once. I was scared out of my mind when the flood came around, because it was so shocking...with halo 2...it didn't accomplish that so much. It felt forced, and I pretty much didn't like the gaming experience in the arbitors levels (except for the last 2, where there were no flood).
#10-and finally, number ten- the gameplay itself. huge waterfalls to an abyss, beating up grunts and elites, the whole mystery behind halo, that fact that almost any weapon coud be yours, the multiplayer, the vehicles. the marines, everything together made halo great.
I really hope bungie produces Halo 3 in a similar fashion. Halo 2 felt like an expansion pack, or just a sequel. make a game bungie, not just a continuation
eh, just my thoughts. I'm sure plenty of people disagree with me, but im just puttin this out there...
