This is what I think:

Let them sit in their confusion.

I don't want to not have an awesomely detailed and longer game because they don't know what's been going on, I want things to be resovled and I want a lot of the story to be involved, such as Colonel Ackerson and Dr. Halsey, I also want to see other Spartans (obviously I don't want to play as them, but I want to see some interaction with the Chief as well as the Marines) so things can be as big they can, not just because of Bungie's inituative and creative talent.

The ODSTs were also described as musclebound hardmen almost as tough as Spartans; I recently saw a thread in which the ODSTs should be tougher, as in Halo 2 there is only one instance you get to fight along the ODSTs and they get destroyed easily on Legendary, and these are guys who can rival Spec-Ops Elites.

Who agrees?

Sure! Lets make it as bloated, convoluted, and complex as possible, with a million subplots, all crammed into 10-25 hrs. of gameplay! Sounds like fun! /sarcasm.

And ODST's certainly can not rival spec op elites.

I for one don't. I read the books and thought they were a waste of time. Also some people didn't want to read the Halo books and becuase they didn't you think that they should be confused with the storyline? So in a short answer, I dont think Bungie should have to compensate for the people who didn't read the books.

Nah, Ackerson might be taking it a little too far...I'd like to see the S-III from Chiron though..I'd also like to keep in touch with other Spartans via your comm line, while you both go through different cities, and get rid of Covenant, etc.

ok... the books are not meant to be the real story... they are meant to complement the games, not the other way around.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

You are stupid deathomen. Bungie has stated numersous times that the books are canon the the Halo univers (yes games included) and vise versa. They both come from the same exact Halo bible which was completed before Halo 2 was released.

No. Someone was posting his quote around, and alsmot got blacklisted because he was taking it out of context (like how you are) and he cleared up what he meant.

He meant that the games were in production first, after the Halo bible was made, then the books were written (though the books were released before Halo).

You said they don't follow the same story? HAH! They have already confirmed that they are the same exact story, and worked extensively with the authors, gave them access to the "Halo Bible"" and the authors picked out how much of the timeline they thought they could fit into one novel...then wrote along side Bungie's watchful eye.

Shishka said things may be left out of the game, if they don't have the time to explain them (Like Johnson escapiong Halo) but since the Spartans showing up is obviously a vital part of Bungie's story, and wouldn't take too much time to explain .

(plus, Bungie already said they like to think they're makng the games for themselves, THEN the fans.)

Where did "and a brother" come from?

And any way, 2 playable characters are fine. Any more, and the story line just becomes to fractured, jumping from point to point.

What the hell is that?and almost nothing from those books made it anywhere near the movies did it.......I have no clue, but I'd guess those books came out after the movies, while we have one novel that came out before Halo, and three that came out before Halo 2..soon to be four before Halo 3.someone wanted to write some books based on the halo universe and bungie said ok, but we will approve/disaprove all the content.....not here write a story so we can use it in the next Halo game................-slap..slap-They said "okay, you can write the book, as long as yo ufollow the story so we can keep the games and the books manifold." Read the quotes.

Point is, nothing in the books comes directly from the games, nothing from the games comes directly from the books. Everything is already engraved in ston (The Halo Bible) and you will see when Halo 3 comes out.

Oh, learn to type, kiddo. I'm sure your mom would be the one slapping you if she knew you were on her computer while you're supposed to be cleaning your room.
