Hm, yeah okay, my input now:
1--Halo 3 shouldn't deal with the books. At all. I think some people need to realize that there are Halo fans out there that don't like to read certain books. If Halo 3 includes novel information, like Dr. Halsey and whatnot, I think a ton of people are going to be confused. I for one have only read the Fall of Reach. I didn't read the other two because I started them and didn't like them.

2--The books may be official canon, but I like to think of the games as the true story. The books...meh, I consider them to be subpar-quality add-ons.

3--Older Star Wars movies > Episodes 1, 2, and 3. By a long shot.

Who is making you buy Bungie's game?

If you want to get the most out of the game, you will take it onto yourself to do so, and you can only do that completely by totally understanding the story.

Don't blame Bungie because you were too lazy to go get the whole story before getting the third game.

You are stupid deathomen. Bungie has stated numersous times that the books are canon the the Halo univers (yes games included) and vise versa. They both come from the same exact Halo bible which was completed before Halo 2 was released.

you're some kind of idiot cheehwawa. Shishka himself said that while they are indeed canon the books are made to complement the games, not the other way around, and the chance of them putting things from the books into the story at this late stage of the series is second to none.... especially since out of the billions who have played the games only a relative handful have read the books.

Halo 1 = 1 Spartan
Halo 2 = 1 Spartan
Halo 3 = 1 Spartan

Halo 1 = 1 playable character
Halo 2 = 2 playable characters (including an enemy)
Halo 3 = 3 playable characters (including an enemy, and a brother)

ZOMG you really are an idiot.
Haha. That says alot about you then kid, since I was using the same exact frame of mind as you did.

I totally agree with everthing you said except about the ODSTs.....they are for sure bad arses but they are no match for Spec-Ops Elite(unless they have a noob combo). But, as far as the books are concerned, the whole reason I bought and read them was because they were supposed to be DIRECTLY connected to the game. If Bungie is just going to ignore the other Spartans and the Ackerson and Dr. Halsey stories then they should have never released the novels in the first place.

Hey "kid," guess what: three playable characters in a single Halo game? What the hell. This is halo, not Sonic Adventure.

I dont think people will be confused because prophets were introduced in Halo 2 and you never heard of them in halo 1 and there wasnt a public outcry of confusion. Besides give bungie some credit they can tie in a story

No way would there be 3 playable characters, that would be worse than sonic adventures.

Hey "kid", guess what: Bungie ignoring the story they have made readily available to the fans, and Parsons has also stated they plan on following that story? Pshh.

This is Bungie we're talking about, not some sub-par game developers who make up the story as they go along.

I never said I wanted 3 playable characters, I think it would be fine so long as they follow the same basic levels as Chief or Arby do, but it might b a little strange.

I was merely using that kid's reasoning, and guess what? He had nothing to say to it.

They're not coming directly from the books, it's directly from the Halo Bible, like it has been in previous games, and in all the novels. Meaning, it's the same exact sstory line, and yo uare likely to see many things that premiered in the novels
(Like the Arbiter, MAC cannons, MAC Stations, The Pillar of Autumn, Prophets, The Battle Rifle, Dual Wielding, Hood, Truth, Fleet Admiral Harper, etc.)

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

That would be a bad buisness move on Bungie's part. If people don't understand a game, they won't want to play it. Almost half the Halo cimmunity hasn't read the books. A 50% drop in sales is not good, if you don't get that.

the game is the whole story...the books are for Mt. DEW sucking, obsesed fan sacks like you who cant live a normal life and do nothing but find a fantasy world better than your own and literaly live there and look down on anyone who doesnt treat it the same pathetic way you do..................lazy?.....no...normal

Bungie did not write the books, a private party (Eric Nylund) wrote the books, Bungie edited them so that they came as close to fitting into the halo Universe as possible. I'll say it again:

Shishka himself said that: While the books are Canon they are meant to complement the games, not the other way around. and they chances of parts of them appearing in this late of a stage is next to none. Especially since out of the billions of people who have played the games only a relative handful have read the books.

Erm... the graphics novel is another book... written by SEVERAL different private parties, not a game. therefore the graphics novel will be nothing but just another novel that contains facets of the games and adds onto them without changing or influencing the games in any way shape or form.
