...want to hear something strange? Just a few of my thoughts..

I think that multiple races were in an 'Old Covenant', The Forerunners, Prophets, Elites, Brutes, etc..We would've lal been on friendly terms, and we were the strongest, and most technologically advanced race around at that time.

The Flood were encountered/created, blah blah. We made the Halos, with the help of the other races in the Covenant, we made sure that we were the only ones that could activate them (security reasons?)

The problem with that theory is if the prophets know what the rings do why try to activate them?
The Prophets are obviously a power-hungry race...they could've been out for power..the Ring's being activated, and all the Races needing to essentially 'start over" on their home planets, via surviving in their respective Arks woul've been the pwerfect time to do so.

The Prophets got the Elites waged a war, and eventually the Prophets persuaded the Elites to form a [new] Covenant with them..they began to gather all of the races again, and over time seperated the Forerunners from the humans

Why do this? Maybe they were hoping to use our original allies, and close friends to kill us off, so they could be in our position for once (Ultimate Power) and then discarding their "instruments" (Elites) during Halo 2, hoping to kill them off with the Rings?

Ok, this is quoted from Wikipedia.

the Covenant frigate in that encounter demonstrated knowledge of the English language, when it broadcast a single phrase "Your destruction is the will of the Gods...and we are their instrument." to the Terran Cruiser before opening fire on it.

The Covenant worship the Forerunners as "Gods," so they are most likely refferring to the Forerunners.

If Humans are Forerunners, why would we want the Covenant to destroy ourselves?

The Covenant don't know that Humans are Forerunners.

Lucifer was an angel, would you worship him now? Or would you want him dead?

Hmm.... Well... let's think about this...

The Covies, are, for one, insane. They do anything the prophets tell them, and the prophets are, basicaly, insane. Truth let mercy get eaten by a Flood sayin that, basicaly, it was all part of the plan. That's insane.

Second off, I doubt we left any information back that led them to believe we were the Forerunners. I doubt anybody but the Flood knows we are. It was such common knowledge back then, we left no hint of what we were.

This actualy gives us no proof that we rn't the forerunners.

At the end of Halo 2, Guilty Spark says "My creators along with all other sentient life were destroyed." He is saying the forerunners were destroyed, and he says this in the presence of Miranda and Sgt. Johnson. If humans were forerunners he would recognize Miranda and Johnson as forerunners and would realize that some forerunners were still alive. And he wouldn't say the forerunners had been destroyed. This is big evidence that humans are not forerunners.

In H1 during the library you come across a dead marine halfway through the level. In the book The Flood the presence of this marine is explained. GS says that he was the FIRST RECLAIMER that he had tried to get through to the index. Now at this point the covies had been on the ring for a while. WHy wouldn't he have tried to use one of them to get the index since elites have far better armor then your average human and brutes are super strong? Doesn't that seem like a better path to try then using your average marine? Wouldn't this lead you to believe that humans are the only creatures that can get the index and then use it? And wouldn't it make sense that the Forerunners would make sure that the only creatures that could activate the halos would be themselves? I have no irrefutable proof on anything that I have said. Personally I believe that the humans are forerunners, but until H3 comes out no-one can say for sure.

None of you that say Humans ARE Forrunners have answered my question. It was the will of the Forrunners to destroy us, apparently, so why would we want to destroy ourselves?

the prophets are the ones who are orchestrating this whole thing right?

well seeing as how they despise humanity with such unseen hatred i would say that "the forerunners want us to kill them" would be a great way to rally up troops and try to wipe us out. remember- the elites dont see why they have to kill the humans; they actually respect our valor. but the prophets use the "will of the forerunners" to get the covie to want to kill us all.

How do you know they despise us? Where is your proof? The only reason I can think of is that they are told to do so by the Forerunners.

By the fact that they try to kill us? I just answered this in my last post.

The covie "believe" the forruners want the humans dead

not only do they try to kill us, but they literally despise our presence

calling the chief "demon"

mercy saying: "though the destruction of the humans filled us with satisfaction......."

and

"And this time......none of you will be left behind"

whereas the other half of the ' original ' covenant , the elites, actually respected the humans when they first encountered us, and questioned the prophets denial of them in the covenant.

i mean, why not let a species that, by themselves, have held off the galaxy's fiercest collection of aliens? why would the prophets want us all dead instead of letting us join the covenant? its cuz they know we were the forerunners ( emphasis on the word "were") and they cant accept the fact that they worshipped gods that were inferior to them, or unworthy

How do you know they have a reason to hate us though? Gimme proof, and I'll believe you.

Although I agree that humans aren't Forerunner, I wouldn't consider this sufficient proof. There are too many ways around it which have already been mentioned.
