1. Bungie studios should first and foremost revolutionize the GeoMod engine that was developed by Volition Inc. for their PS2 FPS Red Faction. The GeoMod engine is a game engine that allows the player to destroy all surrounding in-game geography. Which means if you need to destroy a bridge to halt an enemy advance, you should simply blow away the supports, or destroy the bridge piece by piece. Can't get through a door? Blast through the walls around it! The GeoMod engine makes absolute destruction possible. Bungie would make twice as much money advertising the GeoMod installment in Halo 3 than if they just were announcing another sequal with better graphics and other stuff people will get bored of pretty fast.
2. The Phantom dropship in Halo 2 has what seems to be fans emitting a blue light in many places on the dropship. I think that the fans should be shown spinning, because the blue light seems to be plasma that is being vented from the ships engines, which would help explain what is making the ship fly. The blue grav lift on the bottom of the drop ship is REALLY FREAKIN' LAME and needs to go. The hatch on the end of the Phantom dropship seems to have no purpose in Halo 2. So in Halo 3, the blue grav lift should be scrapped and the doors in the back should be used for troop insertion and exfiltration. Then, during space scenes or transitionary space scenes, the dropships doors should be shown opening and closing. The same goes for the human pelican dropship. The doors in the rear should be seen opening and closing. The three turrets on the Phantom dropship should remain because they dish out a realistic amount of covering fire.
3. The Battle Rifle (second to the assualt rifle of course) is the premeir sybol of the Strength of Human Infantry, or so it appeared in the E3 in game Halo 2 demo where the rifle were firing very powerful (and very beautiful sounding) single shot barks that could incapacitate and kill (or perhaps stonewall a Covenant ground advance as was shown in the E3 Halo 2 demo) Covenant infantry. I loved it, it was one of the main reasons I was looking forward to Halo 2 so much, but when it was revealed to me that the rifle fired three round bursts, i was pretty pissed off, to say the least. I think it would be good if the Battle Rifle fired only one shot at a time.
4. I think it was the dumbest idea ever to play as the Arbiter in Halo 2. I also think its dumb that the Covenant are now having a civil war, and that the Grunt, Elite, and Hunter separtists are now joining the Human forces. That takes the darkness and intensity out of the game for me. I don't think there is much that can be done about it, so I guess I'll just deal with it reluctantly.
5. Their needs to be more graphically detailed space battle scenes and cinematics, so that the ships can be seen firing at each other, not just random flashes and that crap. The space battles scenes should be as detailed and thrilling as the opening space battle scene in Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith was. On top of that, their needs to be more variety in the Human and Covenant warship armadas. All I see in the Covenant fleet as of Halo 2 (and the Halo 3 trailer) are carriers (which are the sniper ships that were made infamous in the Halo novels) The books clearly stated that their are Covenant frigates, destroyers, and cruisers as well as carriers. I really wish Joe Staten and the rest of the Bungie team would give the books more credit. And all I see in the Human fleet as of Halo 2 are Halcyon class crusiers (which their should be very few of, on account of the fact that the books clearly stated the their not many of those ships) The Marathon class crusiers as well as the Human carriers and destroyers should be added to the Human Armada at least during game Cenematics.
6. I'm so tired of the Bungie team not giving the books any credit. Where in the HELL are the rest of the spartans? On top of that, where the hell did this fancy little F---U---C---K named Miranda Keyes come from? The books never mentioned Captain keyes having a lover, a spouse, or a daughter, or even a family for that matter. And why didn't the 500 ship Covenant fleet that was headed for Earth attack like they were supposed to? And another thing, HUMANS CANT UNDERSTAND THE COVENANT LANGUAGE, AND THE COVENANT (especially the elites, who dont even have tongues) CANT SPEAK THE HUMAN LANGUAGE. So they should never have been able to communicate with each other.
I'll probably think of more things to add later, in the mean time, pitch in what you want.
