yea thats pretty funny but a good gun would be a single burst and auto rifle with attachable and dettachable silencer with 3x 10x scope rocket launcher 60 20mm rounds per clip and bayonett at end.

The M24-B Reaver Chain Gun: A Heavy Support Weapon which Halo lacks. Large caliber rounds, insane firing rate and long range. Drawbacks. Takes a full second to cycle up to speed in order to fire. While firing, limited to walking speed only as the gun bucks in your arms and you have to fight to keep the reticle on your target. Due to its complete lack of accuracy it is normally held as best as possible in the general direction of your enemy.

This weapon, normally mounted in fixed positions can be held aloft by a Spartan and it cycles multiple chambers via an electic motor and battery.

Special Note by Gen. Anders: All attempts to use this weapon in Spartan Simulated Combat drills show that not even Spartans can wield this Reaver in Close Quarters. All who have tried have failed. At close range any Elite or Spartan can easily leap out of the firing arc the moment they hear the Reaver powering up. Once firing it cannot turn fast enough due to the recoil to follow the target.

In the vein of Draerden's post, here's mine:

M12C1 "Zeus" Rifle - a sniping weapon based on reverse-engineered Covenant technology. The Zeus is designed to circumvent both energy shielding and armor, disabling any personal shield systems with a powerful electrical surge, then dispatching the target through electrocution with a follow-up shot. It is also capable of disabling any electronics carried in or on the target's person, such as HUDs or digital scopes.

Test Results //Dr. Stramos, Trent R. -- ONI Section-3\\: In field tests, the Zeus has been proven effective against shielded target such as Elites and Jackals. Base (blue armor) Elites' shields could be taken down with one direct hit, after which they seemed disoriented and slightly stunned. This bolt may also "split" when it strikes a shielded target, damaging any nearby units and passing from target to target until the charge is dissipated. The follow-up shot is conducted by the Elites' armor and causes sufficient damage to internal organs to permanently incapacitate the target. It is not known how the more powerful shield systems used by higher ranking Elites would respond to the output of the weapon. In combat simulations the Mark VI MJOLNIR powered armor's insulation kept the operator relatively safe, but shields were still drained instantly and the stunning effect was still present in unshielded targets.

I'm guessing this is raw electricity fired along a laser guide beam that ionizes that atmosphere in order to create a conductive medium. That would be awesomely cool and very advantageous. A larger version could possibly be constructed and vehicle mounted to drain vehicular shields. (According to Frankie, Covenant Wraiths have shields on top of their armour)

Depending on how much the charge jumps from target to target would decide if it was useful. If it jumped only slightly then it would be much more useful to carry a sniper rifle. If it jumped too much it would be more powerful then a rocket launcher.

Dang. The Sniper Rifle sounds a little overpowered but I love that idea of using the Plasma grenade as a secondary ability. It would also make it impossible to use grenades.

Still, I think the ten rounds is a little excessive.

A human version of the needler. It would fire up to 5 automatic rounds of smart missles (homing ability), no bigger then .80mm caliber and the weapon would be no bigger then the SPNKR so it could be carried easily

If one hits you it blinks your shield, so watch out for the other 4!

Not really a gun...but more or less a firing mode...ive read all three of the books....very cool..and one of the things that was meantioned in "the flood" was the MC fired "his sidearm from his hip" if that could go into effect..it would really have a targeting reticle...just enough to get elites/hunters after they charge by you on a melee attack and you dont want to wait for your weapon to come up and load it before you shoot..just a 10 rd burst from the AR would be enough to stun anything long enough for you to draw your weapon.. here's another...in Halo 2...you can hold the grenade button down for X amount of seconds before you throw it..and it blows up... too long and you die...too early and they can dodge.. somthing like a countdown timer for the plasma grenade

Ok this one comes straight from my own imagination. (It was origonally used in a story of mine long before halo)

Pheonix M12 Rail Cannon

A mounted cannon that fires large high velocity metal projectial from long range using a series of magnets to propel the shot.The Pheonix or Gods Hand as it is called was origonally designed with anti Armour in mind. However it's pinpoint accurcy and near mac2 projectal speed make it a decent anti air weapon as well. The weapon however sees very little action in this day and age due to its slow firing rate, the time it takes for the next shot to be cycled and powerd up takes almost ten seconds, and the recoil generated is so great that it has to be placed on a track to prevent it from tearing it's self from the ground , and it is imsoible to mount on any vechile save for the scorpion tank. How ever while rarly used agenst anthing other that killing drop ships it can be certrain the whatever poor enemy that is unfortunate to be at the receaving end will not be moving again...

following up on that...how about a bayonete TYPE thing.....or..a little bit of a spy-game ripoff... you melee a wibble or a jackal, hold them up w/ one hand...and use them as a second shield...and to add the fun...attach a plasma grenade when you're done..and whip it into the advancing line of aliens..NICE!!

i got one...a flamethrower/pistol gun combo... the pistol fires as normal until shields are gone on an elite..or one penetrating shot on a wibble..then the flamethorwer opens 'em up and we have roasted alien for dinner!!!
