hi everbody.
xbladespartan, i kind like your ideia, i have one of my own although a bit different it envolves a lie to.
And this is just an ideia, and maybe a stupid one, nevertheless....
What if the halo's ain't really a weapon, but they want us to think they are, you all know the history of the trojan horse, the trojan thought it was just a gift, and harmless, and in the end it's was their doom, what i'm trying to say is, what if halo is not the acient and power weapon all think it is.
the forerunners wanted the flood to think all sentient life was destroyed, but in the end it wasn't, cause if they managed to contain the flood in the halo's, and even now it had past all this time they didn't get out, except when the covenat release then, why would they kill them selves, and all sentient life that is in halo's range?
i think that maybe when all the halos are all activated they will generate enough energy to power the ark,(this can be understund as both the ark of the covenant and noe's ark at the same time, cause it has the power to save all life, and at the same time it carry all life that is in the ark throw a space rupter, black hole, time distorsion, call it what you want),and enabled the forerunners, and maybe all the other flood hosts to escape to some other part of the universe, even if the halo's are really a weapon, they would still escape, as the power generated by them would still create this time distorsion, creating the illusion that they all have died, but in the end they've escaped before the halo's fired.
other thing that can be related to grec mythology(besides the trojan horse)is the fact the covenat call oracles to guilty spark and penitent tangent, and in acient grecce theres was the oracle of delfos, who forseen that in order to the greec's win the war against the persian(analogy, the covenat and the flood) a king would die, (leonidas), and he was the king of sparta(spartans, as in "the fall of reach", they educate john and all the other recruits about this great battle, and the spartan name, comes from this elite of greec warriors) in the end they all died in the Battle of Thermopylae, maybe they would have been defeted anyway, since it was 300 spartan's and a few more who stayed there, some historians say they were 7000 in total, agains't maybe about 250 thousand persians, but because of a traitor, (who i think is cortana, as she is in gravemind clutches, and i belive she wanted to stay in high charity, and not to detonate in amber clad's reactor) on the 7 day they all fall in battle, (bungie love number 7,there are also 7 halo's, and note (7)000 warriors) in the end they bought enough time and the greec's were able to re-organize them selves and in the other battles they were able to turn the tide and won the war but all spartans and their king,(who i think in this story is the chief died).
also note that in the battle of Thermopylae there was (xerxes, the king of the persians, and 2 of his brothers died in that battle)maybe they represent the 3 hierarchs, two are "dead", only one is left, at least that is what we know.
it's just an ideia and i know it has lot's of faults, but what u guys think? hope this is not offensive to bungie nor anyone else
p.s sorry the long read, and my bad english
