its A GAMEPLAY MECHANIC DUMBASS!!!!

you would get lost, if you could run around under water, over mountains out of the game, without some linear guidance.

and personally, i think MC should stay at the shallow end of the pool next time he goes on vacation.

Don't make me kick your ass!!

what are you gonna do? spam me?

Unfortunately, I don't have time to tolerate flammers like you. You disagree, fine! No -blam!- reason to call me a dumbass. I didn't appriciate that -blam!- Dumbass!

... uhhm yeah why would you wanna swim in the first place. master chief is one bad ass, ass whooper why cuten him up letting him swim ... just let him walk on the sea bed with out swiming ... yeah he weighs alot but he can breath in space why not water ... let him walk through levels with beaches but sink to his doom in really deep water... and about firing guns under water, why not just bash them in the head instead of waiting to get 3 feet fromm them to shoot?

How about falling into deep water, without death animation and fade out back immediately to the last checkpoint? That way, we know that MC didn't 'die' at the same time removing the unnecessity of exploring lakebeds and sea floors.

theres too many games like this, where you go into some water and then die. i understand that wihtout dying, you could get lost and the game developers would have to spend time creating that unnecessary enviroment that you swim around in. instead, in ALL the games that have water that your not supposed to go in, they should have a reason why you die. lets say (in any game) that you fall into deep water, but it's not a long fall and you would live and just swim back. add some kind of underwater monster that would come up and eat you or something, so we know at least WHY your character died, other than "he fell into some water"

Hrmm...

Would plasma even work underwater? Let alone traditional bullets...

Actually, certain guns can fire underwater. The effective range is quite minimal (a few feet) but it's possible. How do I know? Myth Busters.

And no, the Chief weighs over half of a ton with the armor on. Even he's not strong enough to counter that.

I fell asleep through that episode. Mythbusters has been getting boring lately.

But how about plasma, huh? What's your excuse for that one?!

Since plasma is a super heated gas phase, I'm gonna say no because It seems like the continual flow of water would continually super cool the plasma being formed, it would work in a puddle, or if you had a Giant plama gun but your energy would drain much more quickly, plus with normal guns, the reduced speed is going to make the armor much more effective.

I don't think the chife should be able to swim, but he should be able to go pretty deep untill the pressure increeses enough to kill him

I know that he weighs a half a ton, that's why I mentioned that he should have an upgrade where he can glide underwater like a submarine (well not really but somewhat like that). One of those small underwater jet propellers.
He's in the Army not the Navy Seals.
(Army rules!!!)

plasma maybe traditional bullets, just shooting at someone underwater would make the bullet evaporate, i saw that on mythbusters
