Which type of transportation vehicle would you prefer to see in Halo 3 MP? Please state your opinion and reasoning for it.

Transport Warthog: (for Med. - Large Maps)
-1 Driver, 1 Front Passenger, 4 Rear Passengers (replacing the turret area). Total of 6 players.
-No defensive weapons. (Has to depend on teammates outside of the vehicle to defend it.
-Rear of vehicle will be protected will plated metal walls and roof to protect from small arms fire and sniper rounds (will be deflected) (Rocket damage depends on location of impact).
-Size: A little longer than the standard Warthog, with an extra axle (Warthog will still be able to turn all axles still)
-Speed: accelerates a little slower than the standard Warthog.. of course do to weight issues.
*Over-all: Transport Hog is a well Armored transport Vehicle that can help you in a touch spot when you need reinforcements*

Pelican: (for Large Maps only)
-1 pilot, 2 co-pilots, 12 passengers* (number of passengers can vary on opinion)
-Many Defensive Weapons: Rear Mounted Chain-Gun, Rocket Pods, Front mounted Chain Gun.
-All small arms fire is useless while airborne, Sniper rounds bounce off Armor (like tank)(unless the round is aimed at the glass of the pilot, which can be shattered and the rear of the pelican where the passengers are unprotected.) (Rocket damage varies depending on location of impact: anywhere from 3-6 rockets to take the dropship down)
-Has the ability to hover, but while airborne it only has one set altitude (To keep the balance issue of a person ramming people on the ground with it.)

Personally I can see both of these vehicles on the same map (which would have to be huge like BF: 2) and I hope that both would be created for MP use, because they both offer different aspects of transporting troops to the frontlines.

Love to hear the opinions and ideas.

Yeah Me. It would Be Cool To Have Both Or Instead Make the Pelican A Vehikal Transport To The Front Lines Example The Transport Hog Will Deliver Troops But No Vehikals And The Pelican Will Deliver Vehikals And Maybe Troops But Bungie If THey Do Put Them In Will Make To Un Touchable AI MARINE PIOLITS And If You Put Pelicans You Need Phantoms For Elite Teams.

i would prefer to have the shadow instead of the hog. and to me it seems like you gave the pelican too much space available. not that its bad but, for me it seems that it would be a challenge to get enough people to even man all the weapons.

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

And If You Put Pelicans You Need Phantoms For Elite Teams.

Why does there have to be Covenant counterpart to every Human weapon or vehicle?

Anyway, the Pelican would be unbalanced so the Transport Warthog would be better.

I think we should have the Shadow instead of the Hog, it makes more sense, cuz the passengers would be standing and could fire out the sides, it'd be really cool.

There was a midely large arguement I was involved in about the Pelican, and I came to the conclusion of such--

The Pelican doesnt fit into the gameplay of Halo. Halo's maps have the touch of smallness that makes them unique, maps arent too large or small, they are just right.

But to put a transport vehicle in a game like Halo seems a little too "unHaloish"
And by that I mean that the levels are designed perfectly! In every map, they give the feeling that you know what's going on, and at the samee time there is a little confusion. A map that would neccesitate in a Pelican would have to house at least 80 people. THAT would make it UnHaloish.

There is a possibility of making a map that could house a Pelican, but you would need more like a fleet of Pelicans, sure, they could be armored very well, but what is every one going to do when they see a behemoth in the sky? They are going to shoot it down, that will become their priority, it doesn't really matter how tough it is.

And by making the map UnHaloish I mean, it would be huge. Like so--" you are running toward the base of the enemy, at this point you don't know what is going on, youre flag is missing, the map is too huge to find the person who has it, you don't know if you have the flag or not, there are 39 other peope on your team, everyone is yelling in a blur of noise, a guy next to you gets shot by a sniper, the map is too big to see where it came from. A pelican mows you down with its guns."

That wouldnt be fun would it? The fact that Halo's battles are smaller make it good. However, I would actually like to see some more Pelican action.

I think that if Bungie decided to put Pelicans in, they would release a map pack, which would have like 6 maps or so that would house Pelicans, to give that epic feel of battles that Halo offers. And there would be a gametype on Live that would use only those maps.

That's what methinks.

On the note of the Transport Wharthog, I think thats better, Bungie could definetly make a map that could house a Transport Wharthog. As long as besides a passenger and a gunner, there would only be room for like 2 or 4 more people. otherwise it would be almost a Pelican story.

Good Idea. And Your Point about Putting apelican in and everyones priority to shoot it down made me think how sucky the gameplay would become but what if they were in destructible and each team had one but only on huge maps with enough players to fit the requirments and if the map was smal they get a Transport Hog now i dont mean small like turf but maybe like coagulation just a tweak bigger. For missions there has to be more pelican action or if you cant drive em in Multi they you should in Campaighn.

i prefer the Transport Hog myself because as people stated before feels more haloish, its not huge, but would seem nessecary on large maps

I said both because, I'm a vehicle whore. I want to pilot everything, even though alot of people say that the maps would have to be too big to hold dropships, I have played Blood Gulch with them and it can definately handle them. I think the hardest thing would be to actually make it balanced in gameplay, but I definately want them!
