Around the middle-ish end of Halo 1, when Captain Keyes is captured by flood, couldnt that be a reference that he may be Gravemind????? I mean, you never actually see the end of him, and he is just basically forgotten. Plus the fact that alot of the flood strangely resemble humans, I think that Gravemind is Keyes :)

Any evidence to back this up is really wanted :)

That, was on a halo that was destroyed. Master Cheif killed what was left of Keys when he pulled out his face.

The Keyes' Flood was well on its way of becoming a Gravemind eventually. But you saw the end of the former captain by..punching his head in. The ship later went up anyway and later Halo, if anything survived.

The Flood resemble humans because they are humans, or used to be. Gravemind does have humans in him, but none of which is Keyes.

Stop with these "Gravemind is Keyes" topics.

Ok. This theory has been around for 3 years. I don't know who started it, but he is certainly a moron.
* Keyes does not talk like that.
* He doesn't even know what the Index is.
* Keyes was killed by Master Chief, no more human brain matter.
* Then, Halo exploded, generated 100 thousands of degrees. I think he would be but a few atoms now...
* How would you get to Delta Halo from Alpha Halo.

Ya. The thoery is garbage.

What part of your ass did you pull that out from? Keyes was a 'brain form'. Just meant to operate the freakin' ship.

I believe keyes was used to try to find food and a way to get off of halo, not to pilot a ship that for one, he has no clue how to pilot.

Also, Gravemind has had time to grow (he is made of fallen flood forms) over thousands of years within Delta Halo ("Rock and metal and time" and there are other refrences to his age). He is far older than the Keyes form.

Hmm... Maybe the Flood took over the Humans and converted them? How many times do ppl have to say this 'Keyes is alive' thing... HE'S DEAD! GET OVER IT! HE'S NOT COMING BACK!

1:erm... a lot of flood resemble humans cuz they used to be human....they were killed and their bodies taken over by the flood.

2:MC killed keyes in that cut-scene... then blew up that halo for good measure.

3: Gravemind was around for 100000s of years, he said it himself... he said "I have listened through stone and rock and time" or something like that.... this is old speculation that's been debunked 100 times before.

Dang. Looks like I was a little late on finishing this point. Oh well.

problems with said theory:

Keyes was nothing more than a VERY aggressively taken over victim of the flood. It seems to me that the only reason he was so huge and bloated was because he put up such a fight with the Flood that they eventually got irritated with him and absolutely put him through one of their sickest ways of parasitic takeover, turning him into nothing more than a giant puss sack. I mean, look at what's left of his face. He went through some agony.

The fact that a lot of flood "strangly resemble humans" is because they ARE humans! Same thing with the taken over elites and grunts.

Now, there is one possibility however, that the Gravemind technically, has Keyes in his mind. This is my theory. When Keyes was taken over by the Flood, is it possible, since the Gravemind has practical telepathic control over the Flood, that the Gravemind added what was in Keyes' brain to his knowledge? After all, if this theory is true, then that explains his vast wisdom and philosophy. He could have very well taken any Forerunner, Covenant, or human mind that had been infected by the flood and added it to himself. Then give him 1,000 years to ponder any information and BAM! You've got yourself one smart Gravemind.

Also, if he had Keyes' mind, he would easily have been able to pilot the In Amber Clad into High Charity or any other ship in his stolen knowledge.

another thing I don't think anyone touched up on, is... the reason the flood resemble humans is because the flood use dead humans as hosts, basically the walking forms you see are either dead elites or dead humans, animated by flood... NOT because the gravemind is captian keyes, which it isn't

Hello buddy, the flood held him in a covenant control room.

HES ON A COVENANT SHIP! It is techonology AGES ahead of him, so now explain to me exactly how he would know how to fly it. Also when it would have been MUCH easier for the flood to have captured an elite.

Elites don't know where Earth is. That was a brain form. It takes information from the host and flies a ship. Besids, Keyes flew the Covenant Dropship.

He was one of those 'control forms' seen piloting things (Pelicans) in Halo 2..they most likely relay important info to Gravemind, so in essence - Gravemind might "have" Keyes, though not physically.
