Like many Halo 2 players out there, I thoroughly enjoy playing on Lockout. In addition, I like to play Zanzibar, Ascension, Waterworks, Headlong, Relic, and Coagulation.

Today on XBL I heard many people moaning about how [insert map here] was shytty, nubbish, and g@y. Then, I had an idea; what if we were given an option in Halo 3 to pick or "filter" the maps that we would like to play on the most? We could be given an option to pick our top 5-7 maps that we would like to play on and then head on to MM where we can enjoy the full benifits of a truely personalized customizable multiplayer experience.

Your thoughts? Keep in mind that this is just an idea; feel free to point out evident pros and cons WITHOUT apparent, redundant flaming. Thanks.

Some maps, I just don't like the respawn system on, so yes, a map veto system would be appriciated, for me atleast

Exactly, that could register as another apparent pro of the MPS.

People, don't just vote, but vote with your voice as well. State your opinions.

I hate on Lockout in the sniper tower, when someone spawns right behind you, its the worst spawn ever. Then if you stand in a certain spot during one on one in Lockout, the other player will always respawn in the same place, so they are trapped.

I'd like to see a filter system, or server browser. I'd very much like it if they trashed this matchmaking system for Halo 3. Out of all the playlists that have come and gone not one suites my preferences. All I want to do is to play how I want, when I want (as in...customs are a pain and can't be started if none of your friends are online).

I understand Halo 2 was a test for how Microsoft wanted future XBox Live titles to work. But, no one else seems to be taking the bait. NFS doesn't use a system like this. Call of Duty doesn't use a system like this. I don't have every XBox Live title out there, but not one of the titles I do have use this system. And, I think for a very good reason. It takes a LOT of upkeep for Bungie to keep the playlists fresh...as opposed to just putting it out there and letting it run on cruise control like other systems. And, even with all their time and effort, there are still a lot of people left out in the cold. Just look at these forums. Complaints about this or that weapon, vehicle, map, ext. You could get rid of probably 80% of the complaints if people were just allowed to play how they wanted.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

You can Filter out maps in Call Of Duty 2 so why not in Halo 3?!

But then, wouldn't the same idea that you are trying to postulate be applicable to normal MM?

I dunno, I'm still leaning towards a MF system. Makes things much less complicated...

Altought this is a good idea, Bungie will not do this. How will they force people to buy the new maps? (If Halo 3 will have new maps along side with the new maps that will come with the game)

I didn't buy them last time, won't by them next time. I don't like the direction Microsoft are trying to take video games. Hurry up and put out a game, finish it later and then charge for what should have been in the game in the first place.

1.) When did Bungie acutally force people to buy the maps?

2.) Well, when the maps eventually become free (with the help of a sponsor such as Mountain Dew), then everyone would have to download them because the current MM then would be updated to hold the new maps; you could call this Bungie's way of "forcing" people to buy free stuff. Pfft...
