I am new to the threads and I was just wondering if there is a certain importance for 343 Guilty Spark or is he just there to bug me. Feel free to give your opinions.

He is of some importance. He was very persistent to activate halo withought care that it would wipe the galaxy clear of life. At the end of the credits in halo, you see him float away, This would mean a bad thing, because 343 is and will still be intent on destroying the flood. That will mean he will try to activate another halo in hopes that it would wipe the galazy clrear enough of life. Or to find another way. It appears that he thinks the master cheif is a foruuner in a combvat suit. He says at the begining of two betrayels "last time you asked me, if it were my choice would i do it?" He refers that the He and the master chief had met before when they had not. He also refers to him as the "Reclaimer" the same goes for another marine that was killed when trying to be guided through the libray. (you have to have read the book to know that)

So in a nutshell, 343guiltyspark is a important character that may or may not appear in halo2. Some people say he went insane when that is not true. He was obviusly programed to activate halo if the flood escaped at all costs . So yes 343 is very important

How can someone say that a machine is insane when a machine is always based on logic?

yes, but its an AI, however the AI's in Halo or based on actual brain tissue so that they can have creativity that couldnt be taught to a program. therefore its like a human brain operating a trillion times faster than ours. And since its based on humans, and human brains go insane GS could be insane. however i dont know if GS is based the same way

Whoever said a machine had to be logical? or based on logic algorithms? this is sci-fi, he could have something like a random-decay molecular processor or something.
