Thought I'd ask the experts here before I fire off a message to microsoft. The problem is that after about 20 minutes of play, everything seems to slow down. The game gets unbearably slow. I recently had to reinstall Halo after reinstalling windows, and ever since then I've been running into this problem. Suggestions appreciated!

Try not using many programs that also use Internet Connection, examples are LimeWire or MSN, make sure you don't have anti-virus on, I get tremendous lag when Norton decides to go on a cleaning spree spontaniously, and run you GPU at lower settings, other then that, no idea what's the cause of your problem.

You just reinstall windows you say? Make sure you have the latest driver for your GPU...

In online multiplayer or campaign, or both? Online could be some kind of lag issue– more people join and game starts to lag. If it's campaign, check for background programs and driver issues.

if it plays alright at the start, but not later, it is most likely your videocard getting too hot.

If you're playing on a laptop and/or if your vents are being blocked, it's likely that your PC is overheating.

My guess is your bogging down your system. Close any other programs, and turn down the sound settings. Your processor might not be able to take that much.
