Face it. Bungie has covered almost every weapon that would be used on foot seriously in a war against an alien race. Except for one. The Mine. Just imagine being able to throw a disk-shaped explosive at an entire group of Covies, or setting a trap for the pursuing team in capture the flag. But would the weapon be too potent to be considered into the game? Or would it add to the frantic chaos in desperate firefights? what do you think, mines in the next game or no mines in the next Halo? And how would it function?

Don't spaz out if you don't like his idea. It is just something Bungie will have to decide.

I'm all about being able to modify your teams warthog into a carbomb and driving it into the enemy base.

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

I like it, but it sould be constrained to a mmarine class and not a spartan, but yeah thats sound cool and it should be implemented by all means but wiht certain restrictions.

It would be cool to blow up a Scorpiopn tank but it sould take two of them to blow up a Wrait not to mention it would not harm a Ghost so you should choose stratically good areas.

Hmm,....................

the mine could be set up to where you throw it like a frizbee, so that it can be embedded into walls quickly, non of the you have to set the mine up by tossing it slowly.

mines would be okay for campaign only if they did about the same amount a grenade does.( although it would make for some hilarious grunt moments) I wouldn't want to just run in set up a mine and be off.

Also how would the mine be activated, how would it be set. Would you throw it like a grenade, or would it be a bomb triggered by a remote control?
Just thoughts

How about we make the destructo-frizbee into a grenade option?

EDIT: For instance, frag, plasma, frizbee

yeah, but stickies don't attach to walls, like the mines woud be able to do. And the mines could be set to be motion sensor or something, not neccessarily Throw and BOOM.

Agreed but with the mine you might want a bigger balst radius tham a sticky making harder to calculate.

This was done when James Bond came out on N64 remember? The motion, timed, and detonator mines?

Too much to worry about. Its hard enough getting across maps like coag on foot without having to worry about stepping on a -blam!- mine.

This is Halo not Battle field 2 so thats a big HELZ NO on the mines idea It wouldn't fit into Halo at all it would make useing a vehicle pointless because every one would plant mines every where and then some poeple would run right up to your vehicle and through a mine and blow both people up and it would also make spawn camping to easy so please no mines it just doent fit into the Halo story.

Bungie could balance it out by making it possible to blow up by shooting it or tossing a grenade into it.

i agree bout bungie covering all classes of wepons so far, but a mine would be whored by everyone, unless it is pitifully weak. bungie could put a crossbow into h3. it is innovative, but not quite halo

Please find a halfway point here.

I mean no it would be put off the balance and yes putting a crossbow in Halo 3 is original but lets face it logically, its 2552 mines are already in the books and should be available to the milatary as a basic tool like a gun, lets not kill it but rationalise with it.

Make it weak against infanrty but strong against vehicles.

Just stick a plasma grenade to it. It will work. I promise.

Weapon sticky...

The mine, for me, would kind of make it not feel like Halo. Running over mines all the time would just be stupid. Just my opinion...
