Ok so i was thinking(ok i read this)

U know the ark activates all the halos right? but Halo 04 alpha was destroyed
this would mean when the halos went off the areas that were supposed to be destroyed by halo 04 wouldnt be effcted which would mean MC could take the survivors of earth to where Halo 04 was and when the ark went off theyed be safe

agian i didnt think of this i read it and i thought HOLY SH1T THIS THEORY ACCTUALLY MAKES SENSE AND COULD BE POSSIBLE!

The last with pagan blood.
IMMORTAL.

The rings overlap. So if 1 ring fails, another will cover it.

Only by so much, there would still be a 'pocket' in that area.......

or the forrunner thing on earth creats a force field around earth to prevent earths destruction

but if there is a gap, then wouldn't flood survive, and if so, why would they bother to activate the rings? The only way that would work is if the covenant activated the rings but that would mean the Chief wouldn't be able to get the people to the "pocket" that is not in range.

Its quite plausable. But i was hoping for something more dramatic and unbelievable. Like the ark (or just dome thing on earth) does something cool and then theres a big mystery revealed and all the flood die and all human are safe. Its just not really aming, cheif just flying to alpha halo.

that would defeat the whole purpose of Halo.

Yes, it would. And I do agree with your theory. It may play a part in Halo 3.

I bet the forerunners are humans and they built the halos so i think they would've thought of a way to keep themselves safe. It could just protect a certain part of the earth or something so that it would be easy to find flood. I agree that making it protect the whole earth would defeat the purpose of the Halo because the flood could hide too easily but if it only protected a part of the earth, it could work. Assuming that most of the earth getting blown up doesn't mess the remain land up.

this is the only theory i have read on these forums. its simple but it makes sense and there is really no evidence against it....AND it doesnt talk about the books(thank god...)

Actually I would have to disagree with the theory its simple, If the Master Chief and humans could go there for protection than why cant the Flood, I meen the Flood is actually pretty much there already, for example the level the Arbiter on Halo 2 campaign you go te a Heretic station near Installation 04, and on that level you encounter the Flood, I meen you can look up in the sky from the station and see the Halo in its destroyed state, Even if they all decided to go to Earth and what not there would be stragglers still!!! So if the place is safe for Master Cheif why wouldnt it be safe for the Flood!!!

Ok. It's plausible. My question is: Does Halo affect things in Slipspace? Like if a ship was traveling from somewhere to somewhere in slipspace, would everything in it die whe Halo was activated? It intrigues me...

Yeah, the Flood don't get killed by the Halos, so they would still conquer the humans. That's pretty much the point, so far at least, the only way the Flood won't have the people is if there aren't any people. Hm, kind of like sin...
