"I recently uninstalled Halo because a whole bunch of my skins were messed up. When I went to install it again, everything went perfectly fine until it got to putput.map. I got an error message saying something about the file already being in use. I click retry and the same thing happened. The next day, I tried installing it again, and the same thing happened; except this time with timberland.map. I got a friend who knew a lot about computers to try and help me. He did everything he could...
but it still didn't work. I have tried unlocker, system restore, etc etc etc... Does anyone know a solution to this?"

Any help will be appreciated.

Yeah, everyone who needs help is obviously pirating. let's not try and actually solve this problem, just make rude and immature assumptions.

It's not that he needs help, it's the type of problem he's getting. One, he's saying "I'm posting this for a friend" because he doesn't want to admit he illegally downloaded it. Second, what other logical explanation is there for a "file already in use" error other than he pirated it?

Okay, prove me wrong. Take a picture of the Halo disk and disk case, along with a little post-it note that has your Bungie.net screen name written on it.

Maw

I don't know how to make it work. Why was Jony Orface on the link? Was it his picture? I have no idea.

Well, something is obviously wrong with your computer setup. If it's not too much trouble, and you really want to play Halo, I would reformat your PC and do a fresh install of Windows. Files don't like to be (un)installed over and over again.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Can you tell me what the message you get exactly says?

Exact words: Halo setup encountered a disk error while writing to the file C:\Program files\microsoft games\halo\maps\timberland.map. Make sure your hard disk is not full, and that the file is not in use.

Spacklemire, please don't double post. There is a self-explanataroy "Edit" button on your posts.

And Johnny Orcface, don't make reckless assumptions and accusations, because it makes you look like a jackass.
