Why doesn't everyone get it? There is NOTHING wrong with using any object in the game for any purpose. A kill is a kill. A capture is a capture.
You can scream shee noob, frg noob, anything noob all you want. That doesn't change the fact that you are losing against whatever they have.
You must adapt to what they do, or you will lose. Heavies in the tunnels on Danger Canyon? Send the whole team in and whipe them out, or just go around outside.
Why were certain weapons and vehicles defined as noob anyway? There isn't anything wrong with using the banshee to run people over, even when they are totally vulnerable such as when spawning. There are other members of the team that is spawning on the map. Pistol that thing and take it for yourself.
Do you know why it's ok to do all this? It's because everyone has the opportunity, but they think themselves too "honorable" to use weapons that could win the game for them. They have found themselves above using cheap weapons by conforming to the idea that certain items and vehicles are noobish.
I don't conform. I use whatever I can find, usually pistol and a rocket. When I'm on defense, I always have my flame thrower. I get called a noob for it, but we'll let the Post Game Carnage Report show who the noobs are.
My server only has banshees on Infinity, and nobody whines about them there. Everyone has the opportunity to get one, as long as they are fast enough. Those that don't have starting plasma grenades, so banshees shouldn't be a problem.
I remember the early days of Halo PC, when there was no noob-calling. It seems it happened overnight when vehicles, rockets, and especially frg's were designated noobish. I don't know why it happened. Things are taboo this day that weren't a week ago. The taboos are completely unnecessary, and all they do is hurt people trying to enjoy the game in all of its aspects.
How about instead of saying that certain weapons and vehicles take no skill and whining that you get owned by some noob with them every day, you realize that person has it figured out and knows how to win, and you evidently don't? Like I said, don't wear your keyboard calling names, wear your wasd keys finding a way to beat those who have these so-called noob weapons. Work and communicate with your team to kill the camper with the frg and take it for your team, and then win with it.
It doesn't take a lot of thought, you just have to get over the prejudice. If you want to dominate every day, learn to adapt and learn to use the taboo weapons and the banshee. Get those power weapons before the other team does, and go pwn. Learn to type quickly for team chat as well. If you communicate, you can work together and win. And most of all, don't let what other people say discourage you.
I am not a pro, but I hope to someday be one in Halo 2(Halo 3, if it takes too long). I'm going for a legit level 50, no standbying, no boosting, no bridging. I'm at thirteen now and only started Saturday. I was fourteen until we lost a match. I'm going to go see if I can get to twenty today.
One final thought: If Bungie/Gearbox/the server host put it on the map, how can you justify not using it to its full potential?
