Well why complain? Go do something worth while instead of complaining on a Halo 3 forum about how the world uses bad grammar or mis-interprets something...

Yea, you being a Presbyterian? [you spelled it right]

I highly doubt that, you might be, but I woudn't see someone who goes to church get all hyped up on it, well.... you didn't actually swear, more like, bleeped it out yourself.

But you could DEFINETLY said your opinion in a better way that wasn't as insulting.

Third: A thread titled "We. All. Know. Halo. Has. Biblical,. Greek,. And. Roman. References. So. Shut. Up." Is too long, hence I went with "Halo. Is. NOT. The. BIBLE!".

I for one definitely agree that the biblical references are stretched out way too much. I've actually disproven the "Halo flood = sin" argument. And "the storm around the Ark" theory is also false in terms of the storm featured in the trailer.

That that was the lamest comeback I've heard all night.

Just because something portrays values or lessons or references from a holy text doesn't mean you need to protest...look at what happened to the Danish Embassy, it was set on fire because Islamic people were outraged at a damn cartoon...

I would really like to see how you proved the Halo Flood doesn't represent sin. Proved is a pretty strong word, and none of us good theorists have ever said we proved anything.

MissionHill, I am Presbyterian, although not strongly religous. I don't go to church, but I believe in God, Heaven, Hell, Jesus, and the afterlife and such. I apologize for sounding insulting, but come on. Halo is a video game.

It's about guns, blood, death, and war, not the f***ing Revelation!

Yeah the bible doesn't have any of that in it. [/sarcasm]

Well not guns......

I'm just saying all the research and chapters of relating Biblical content to Halo is foolish,

No it isn't. For people who want to speculate about the Halo Story it is not foolish to investigate the Biblical Parallels that are certainly in Halo.

we all know Halo has Biblical, Roman, and Greek references within its kickass content.

Most people know that Halo draws inspiration for other sources besides the Bible. However, some people can write better theories about the Biblical parallels than they can about parallels to Greek, Roman, Norse, or whatever religions. The opposite is also true.

Okay.

A lot of people think that flood represent sin because they "infect" humans and covenant and shape them into evil things. A lot of people think this because of Cortana's quote in halo 1:"Human, covenant, whatever...we are all equally edible." Because this quote can relate with the fact that "sin" can affect anyone, no matter what religion you are.

Well, we are forgetting one thing that the flood CAN'T infect: the hunter. Now, if the flood was a direct correlation with sin, then this hunter inconsistency would imply that there are a few things that are invincible toward sin. But nothing is. Therefore, flood does not equal sin.

See the forum title? "Halo 3 Forum". If people must post on the topic, they should do it in The Underground.

Well it isn’t, and anyone who knows the Bible and takes it to heart can tell the difference. What people do talk about are the similarities and the parts that have been added in religious context. Halo is Bungies perception on certain parts of the bible, just as many movies have a take on certain events. Take movies like, Passion of the Christ, Left Behind, and (that new one with Tom Hanks, cant think of it at this time) are Christian movies yes, biblical references yes, but are they the Bible, no. And as these perceptions of biblical scriptures and matters can be entertaining, it is not the Bible in any way. Halo, although a run and gun fps, does have certain plots and references to the bible, some are meaningful, some are not, and at the end of the day is just a game.
So if you are looking for God, I suggest you look elsewhere, because there is no more then a clever good time here. If you would like to actually know some of the similarities, ones that are "more then just coincidence," let me know.
