I'm just saying all the research and chapters of relating Biblical content to Halo is foolish,

No it isn't. For people who want to speculate about the Halo Story it is not foolish to investigate the Biblical Parallels that are certainly in Halo.

we all know Halo has Biblical, Roman, and Greek references within its kickass content.

Most people know that Halo draws inspiration for other sources besides the Bible. However, some people can write better theories about the Biblical parallels than they can about parallels to Greek, Roman, Norse, or whatever religions. The opposite is also true.

See the forum title? "Halo 3 Forum". If people must post on the topic, they should do it in The Underground.

Not if there Theories/Thoughts/Speculations pertain to Halo 3.

Second: I know no one said Halo is the Bible, but people seem to think it is.

Well it isn’t, and anyone who knows the Bible and takes it to heart can tell the difference. What people do talk about are the similarities and the parts that have been added in religious context. Halo is Bungies perception on certain parts of the bible, just as many movies have a take on certain events. Take movies like, Passion of the Christ, Left Behind, and (that new one with Tom Hanks, cant think of it at this time) are Christian movies yes, biblical references yes, but are they the Bible, no. And as these perceptions of biblical scriptures and matters can be entertaining, it is not the Bible in any way. Halo, although a run and gun fps, does have certain plots and references to the bible, some are meaningful, some are not, and at the end of the day is just a game.
So if you are looking for God, I suggest you look elsewhere, because there is no more then a clever good time here. If you would like to actually know some of the similarities, ones that are "more then just coincidence," let me know.

Passion of the Chri-- are you a f***ing moron?! The movie is called the Passion of the Christ!

These Christian threads I'm ranting about aren't particularly about Halo 3, they're about Halo in general.

I agree with Antiacolyte as well.

Not to mention, all the bible threads are breaking the forum rules--NO RELIGIOUS DISCUSSION. Just thought I'd point that out.

Wow I cant believe people actually think that Halo has any real intentional bible refrences. Its a video game made for entertianment I dont no about anyone else but I dont get my entertianment from spending hours apon hours trying to find religous refrences in a -blam!- video game. I'd rather just play the damn thing instead of anylizing the hell out of it.

So dawns the Chapter of the Group "Acolytes of Anti", a group of Members who offer contructive critisism, ideas, and flames to Bungie.net Community wide topics.

Clayton, Nightmare, and Zawaz, any....interests?

But it is still just someone’s interpitation. Even a highly religious movie like this is only cheep entertainment in comparison to the Bible, just like anything else that has biblical references. It is not the real thing, people know this. Anyone who doesn’t does not know the Bible. And it is not just Christians making it to have similarities, it isn’t even a question that there in there.

Take Mark 6:27:
27So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John's head.

Sound familiar, yep? Pointless, yes. Interesting perception, sure.

But to actually pick up on these things, you have to have some knowledge of the Bible, if you do, it adds more to the story making it more entertaining. Halo is set up in a way that it doesn’t piss anyone off, or offend, just entertains everyone from all walks. That’s not an easy thing to do, as you have probably learned by making this thread.

<Start Adam Sessler quote> Okay, let me check, my Xbox is white, it has the number 360 on it, <end Adam Sessler quote>and it definately doesn't say "Holy Bible" on it, nor does Halo 3! =D

Stop making references between Halo and the bible. There are similarities, but it's not about the bible. Geeze. Freakin' overly-religous Christian gamers. Go play "Jesus' Big Adventure: The legend of the Demonic Darwin and his evil evolution theories", not Halo.

Please, please, for the love of his highness of covie-kicking, Master Chief, STOP CALLING HALO THE DIGITAL VERSION OF THE FREAKING BIBLE! It's about guns, blood, death, and war, not the f***ing Revelation!

Flame or comment accordingly.

Chill out dude. There are biblical allegories in the Halo universe. Get over it. You can make biblical allegories to lots of things. The Matrix, and Lord of the Rings to name a few. And were using these references to try and figure out the mystery behind the Forerunners, the Ark, and the Halos. So just shut up.
I don't remember there being biblical parallels in Lord of the Rings. I'm pretty sure Tolkien was against that.

He had Gods and Godesses in the novels, which isn't a Christian idea.

Tolkien was actually a very devout believer.

Also, as others have shown quotes: some Bungie staff have said that it's ok to look at all of Halo as biblical allegory. I don't know why people get so worked up over it. The Bible is referenced in a LOT of culture- movies, television, games, etc, and you don't always know it's there. I just don't see why people get so angry if it is.
