Um, this would hinder cross game friendships. If you were just as good as someone in one game, and they asked you to get another game they had, then you wouldnt be able to play with them until you withing 5 levels of them.

I think the solution would be hidden levels. Your level should only be visible in the XB Dashboard when they view your gamercard.

true, i think he has a valid point here, on pc i often get stuck with very good players that band on one team and it's less fun to play games like that. just think never having a game that too hard so it's no enjoyable but not too easy either, and it will keep the scores close, making for good games.

But then people would get cocky, thinking that they are all that, and then wouldnt know there were people out there who were better than them.

If you limit one's experience, they become ignorant. Although in some cases *modding *cough* standbying *cough*, ignorance is bliss.

That's not boosting. Boosting is going in with against your friends, allowing eachother to win - thus gaining levels.

The 'boosting' you are referring to is nothing wrong, and it is not even what the word "boosting" is meant to refer to in Halo 2.

You cn't tell me, or anyone else who to play with. If I get a new account, you're damned right I'm going to play with my friends right from the start - no matter if t hey're level 15's or level 40s.

I agree with the cross game friendships. I made a few friends in Doom 3, and when they came to play Halo 2 with me, they were like level 10s and I was a 25. If that happened, we couldn't have played any of the MM games we did.

True, but then again, they wouldnt have experienced that before, and would ultimately consider you to be cheating rather than just better than them.

The topic starter is far from safe. I do have a wide variety of uppercut moves that I'll use on whomever I want. The topic starter is almost at that point...

It isnt that big a deal. If you didnt, your level wouldnt advance that much. besides, Halo 2's levels dont matter at all. I can beat most of the lvl 30's on my FL and im a 25.

Actually thats called circle boosting and it usually only happens in the higher lvls like 43-50

My general experience with people is that they think that anyway.

Here's a simple solution. The level of the highest ranked party member is the level of play everyone has to play. So instead of an average between the two, the only rank that matters is the highest one. For example, if a level 15 plays with a level 40, they will play against other level 40s.

They shouldn't have level restrictions on who can play with who in a game. If any of you played Battlefield: Modern Combat (blows) you could not play ranked games with your friends unless you were almos their rank, it took decades to play with some of my high ranked friends, I don't want it to be that way for halo. Secondly, everyone thinks they are good. If you are a level 25 and you can beat level 30s whoopety fricken doo man, no one really cares. All it means is that you can beat people who have level 30s. There is always someone better than you. For some people there may be very few people better than them, but there is always someone better.

1) English please, your statement was a good point but the 1337 killed the seriousness of it and made you look stupid

2) I wasnt bragging, i was trying to point out the fact that level really doesnt matter, it is all a matter of player to player. Each person plays better against certian people, and worse against others, regardless of rank.

  • 07.13.2006 11:23 PM PDT

A mythic member but I speak my mind to much.

I believe Higher level player should be allowed to play with lower level people. Lets say you have a team and they all start new accounts because their old ones were destroyed by trolls, you are a level 30 and they want to play with you not people match make puts them with, it would suck if you would get banned just for wanting to play with your friend because they are a lower level.

Boosting can be solved by making a leveling system that doesn't give a lower level player more points just for playing with Higher level players, since its pritty much giving points away. A win at any level would give you ten points, you would have to collect 100 points to level up. Lets say you win 10 games at level 1 then you would go up to 2, every hundred points earns you a level up. If you lose you get 10 points subtracted from your total points. When you lose you will get 10 taken away if you do nothing in a game if you betray ,you will get more taken from the total. If you helped you team with low deaths and many enemy kill and your stats show how you worked you will have less taken away form your point total. If a player lossed but does very well, For example he gets 1000 kills 5 deaths. this player may get 1 or 2 points added to his total points. this way of ranking allows a winning player to level and delevel more fairly. Plus if you get matched with bad player you can still end the game getting points even if you lose.

Hope that makes sence
