I actually want them to make a Halo: Xtreme Kart Racing game believe it or not. Also they need to make a super microsoft brothers melee game. That would be cool IMO but I highly doubt it will ever happen.

as long as Halo 2 finishes the story and reveals all the mysteries, I don't care if there is a HALO 3. Mabye they will make something that will be as big of a launch for the xbox 2 like they made halo for xbox's launch

Not 100% sure if it's true or not but I heard that Bungie bought or just aquired in another way) the rights to Steel Battalion and that they're either re-making Steel Battalion: Line of Contact (Capcom really screwed up this game) or they're making a whole new game for the series.

if this is true, I think Bungie can make Steel Battalion: Line of Contact into the game it was meant to be.

Absolutely false. Bungie makes their own games; not other developer's.

Lets just hope it doesn't have a level called the library in it...

Ohh, and free myth games for everybody!

Woah...thats weird I never thought about The Library being in a few Bungie games (havent played Marathon or Oni...)

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

An FPSMMORPGRTS Halo/Marathon hybrid.

And Halo 3 would be cool, but not right after Halo 2... put maybe 1 or 2 games in between that are completely different. As long as they didnt leave an absolutely MASSIVE hook in Halo 2, otherwise the wait would be deadly (example: you capture a prophet on one of their own ships, and are heading to their home planet....TO BE CONTINUED) Not a bungie-like thing, but would totally suck the big one.

I do think they are going to go in a totally different direction, something they havent done before.

Marathon is finished in my opinion, but if you look closer, you'll see
Halo is another Marathon! A few of the same/similar weapons,
Mjolnir cyborgs, A.I.s, enslaved alien races, enigmatic advanced
alien races. . . it's the same game, but different! (A lot of Bungie
games have that effect if you look closely)

At the rate Halo has been moving with the books-and the last game- not to mention there is a lot information to to go through in a single game- i expect to see a halo 3. I think it would be hard to program the defeat of the covenant empire, the flood, and stopping the "destruction of all sentient life in the universe" all on one cd. So i expect to see a halo 3.....One the other hand Bungie is amazing so who knows what they can do!!!!!!!

What do you guys think Bungie's next project will be? What type of game/s would you like to see Bungie make? Would you be satisfied if Halo 2 was the end of the series?

Eagle, I believe there will definitely be the need for a Halo 3 for uniformity reasons. A lot of good things have ended on the third part of a series. One way to kind of figure that there needs to be a Halo 3 would be to figure out how many levels there will be in Halo 2, and what will be involved plot wise. IMO, and guesstimate, is there will be 10 levels just like Halo, in Halo 2. And while I was putting together what needed to happen in Halo 2 to 1st, transition from Halo to Halo 2, and 2nd, for MC to just plain save the Human race, I don't think it can happen WITHIN 10 levels, without having significant plot holes and/or to much summary. 'Halo 3 : Strike-Counterstrike' (just messing around with this) will come out with the 2nd Xbox.

Another belief of mine. I think Halo 3 will be based off the same infrastructure as Halo 2, i.e. the reason Halo 2 took so long. I think that Halo 2 kept being delayed because Bungie/MS wanted a way they could efficiently create Halo 3, thus allowing Bungie to create another game, and only needing a small crew to create Halo 3. It could be that Halo 3 is more of a sequel to Halo 2, more then Halo 2 is a sequel to Halo.

One thing I'm hoping for is, I WANT Halo 2 to be a sequel, and not a new game. I keep getting the feeling that there will be to much introduction, and secrets and questions rather then summary. Thus another reason they need Halo 3. Basically, I don't want this to be another Matrix Trilogy. A lot of questions and action with the 2nd episode, but nothing really "resolved" in the third.

I think it would be good if Bungie made an original WW2 fps to put some heat back into this genre after MOH cocked up. However most likely Bungie will be making an RTS and obviously not a halo RTS.

Since when has Bungie ever wanted to fit in? If they did they would have worked all their games into the ground by now (doing somethign like making more sequels than they need, making a movie, etc.) and wouldn't have such a great website fan community...

I say 3 cheers for Bungie being different!

Tristan ;-)

And 3 cheers for no Halo 3!

Pardon me, were you talking about the Bungie Studios owned by Microsoft or the Bungie Studios that is fat lazy and lives in thier mom's basement? Being different?...PLEASE...., think about the money that they can make off a third title. I know Bungie is good to their fans, but only while those fans are buying Bungie/MS products. Being different vs. Being rich. Which one would Bungie choose....hmmm....let me think....???

I'll reserve my judgement for after I've seen the end of Halo 2, for whether I want Halo 3. To me the important thing about it is to see a logical conclusion to the story, to not be left hanging, and in the same time not have a ton of it cut out so they can rush the story to completion.

At the moment I'll be happy to get my hands on the shiny silver case.

As for what I hope they're working on... I can't really say I can point a specific genre out. Bungie is a phenomenal group of very creative people. Their stories just blow me away. Any genre they use, undoubtedly they'll utilize it to full advantage to tell the story. They brought life to a FPS. (Cue speechy thing) Honestly, I'll admit to this. I'm an RPG ho. If a game doesn't have a story, I usually don't care about it. Halo was the very first shooter I picked up, that I became absorbed in. Not with concentration on shooting and managing the controls, but because it was an intruging story. If they can bring that kind of intricate life to a shooter, the sky is the limit.

Who knows? Knowing Bungie, they might make up a new genre just for their next project.

Just because they're writing Pimps at Sea doesn't mean they're trotting out their software to hustle the streets for some more bling. (Mental image of a Halo 3 box on legs sauntering up to my car and saying, "Hey, sugah, looking for a good time?" Oh boy, I must be due to visit the pshrink again.)

Looking at their past series they've never made the third one... Marathon Infinity was done by Greg Kirkpatrick's company (name forgotten) and Myth III was done by Take Two.

Throw in the Parsons interview that they're not going to be doing Halo 3 next, and I'd say that they're not going to be doing Halo 3 next. Maybe someone else will, but not Bungie. At least not yet.
