Polar Lightning has it exactly right. A pelican is not suitable for the fast-pacedness that is Halo. And a map that would actually be suitable for a Pelican would just be too big formultiplayer.
Think about it. A map that could hold a Pelican would really need a fleet of Pelicans, because what would happen when someone saw a huge behemoth in the sky with the capabilitie of killing them? They would shoot it!!
A map that would have a Pelican would really need to be the size of an actual single player map. And with the sdize comes the issue of knowing what is going on. Imagine, CTF, on a map that has a Pelican-- You don't know where the flag is for your team, it's missing, the guy next to you dies from sniper fire, the map is too big to see where the sniper is. And then the Pelican comes over head and shoots you.
Not fun really. And this is Halo, not Grand Theft Auto, c'mon guys. Methinks that Pelicans would be cool, for single player only.
