I think instead of pelicans. There should be albatross dropships that fly in and drop of vehicles. It would add more realism into the game.

When the hammer falls, which will it strike, the Forge? Or the Anvil?

I think that it SHOULD be implimented, but on a certain map... there are Two islands, they are far appart.. mabye a little longer then from base to base on Containment if you had it perfectly strait. but, its not one big land, there are the two main islands... of which you actually have to go INSIDE the island to get teh flag... there are two small (blood gultch base size, roof on top, but not covered... turrets are up here) islands... there are bridges going across, connecting them, and the two bases.

like there is a bunker on the top... and you go in the bunker, then down through 3 ways, then into an open-like area like the base on "343 Guilty-Spark" level from halo 1, only no Flood or anything... that would be bad D:

Anyways, this island is about at big as the containment bases... then you go down into the bunker, which is about Blood Gulch base-size, into the room thats like "343-guilty-spark" in Halo 1... how you get down is a ramp, liek how you got down there in Halo 1. Yet on the other side is a ladder, or the grav lift-esque thing... which leads to one of the other exits on the top level ofthe bunker... outside the bunker are two Pelican drop-pads... and on the other side of the bunker are two warthogs, in which can either be picked up by the pelican (black button FTW!) or just be driven across... There is a tank Directly behind the bunker (behind as in, the direction opposite from the other base). the tank cant be picked up by peli D: , it would be to n00b, no weaps for pelican other then the back turret..which can just be shot off.

The pelican would have its uses, its faster then the warthog, yet helluvalot easier to be hit... when the pelican is destroyed instead of it just 'sploding have it crash, as in, engines fail, the thing starts to dive, and everyone can jump out... but... no one can swim D: its hard in 1 ton armor! so the gardians would get a OMFG killamanjaro!... now for those of you who are like "OMG EVERYONE WILL BE SCREAMYELLING PALICAN FAIL IT! OMFG !!1!six"... your idiots, we shall manage o-o, ever been in a BtB match? 8 people all yelling? yet we still love and play it, NT, GG, you lose... ok? "hard to organize"? HAH i dont think people who always say "i wish peli was here D:" will now go "Oh look! pelican!" and run to it. gameplay? It would be fun to play on... I think that there would be some bad things going on, bridge camping, turret happy idiots, whatever... but seriously guys, thats what a sniper rifle is for, correct?

Halo is about the small stuff yes, but you know what? these are NOT small little battles.. ok? this is a planet-scaled fight for survival, it should be like that, not small little things...yes the small maps are fun, but lets face it, the covenent arnt gonna win the war by winning a box gultch from humans, or an ancient arena that was built by the forerunners... They are important but there is a larger scaled battle going on. ok? im not saying there shoudnt be hang'em high 2, i love hang'em high, im saying there should be maps that look and feel like there is bloody conflicts going on in the backround... like turf, yes... but also play like its a big war, not just one match that spans for 15 minutes... I mean, the games should still be 15 minutes...but... whatever, right? anyways, to all the conspiriters who say "it wont feel like halo D: *cry*"... ok so out of halo 3 you just want halo 2 only better graphics? how lame of you people...i mean seriosuly, you dont make the greatest games by just doing the formula over with new graphics... the formula IS good, but there can be tweeks... anyways, To you people who say its not halo? im sure there will be sidewinder, im sure there will be blood gultch, im sure there will be new, even funner maps... im not saying they should just drop those and make maps like this, cause this is ONE map... not 19...or 20... whatever...one map, you dont wanna play it? Ok, its still there, but you can play other maps...its not the end of the world if they make it... if it is, then you people need to open your eyes and get out of the smaller battles, yes they are intense, but where is the gratification... its a small battle, 4v4.. 5v5... Where is the feeling of when the announcer guy goes "Game Over" and your team is on top and you can lay back and relax knowing that you just beat 8 other guys on this huge map that involves a /little/ thinking

Sure there will be n00bs in halo, everyone knows that, we all know there will be some 12 year old... yes yes... those 12 year olds wont want to play the big maps, so they will spam against it, unfortunatly, im my eyes, they have the bigger voice due to the fact they they are the most outspoken...

Well, anything smaller than Coag shouldnt have access to a pelican. There will most likely be maps around 2 times that of coag, which will reqiure some sort of heavy transport be it by air or land.

The pelican can be used and balanced at the same time. Many think becuase in campaign it can take anything but a Scarab shot, it will be a god weapon. But things from campaign to multiplayer dont have to be the same.

Why dont they? The wraith doesnt have the forward turrets and has a slower firing rate. The scorpion cannot have passengers. The banshee is lacking its FRG in the front. So why not make the pelican destrucible?

In the Halo 3 battlefield. I think that when a vehicle is destroyed, it should remain desatroyed, like on a real battlefield. Although, most "realistic" changes probably dont suit Halo, this would be suttle. Vehicles would still respawn, but the crashed version of the vehicle would remian intact.

Now, how i feel about balancing the pelican is this.

* Capacity
- 1 Pilot
- 1 rear gunner
- 6 passengers

* Armament
- .50mm chaingun in rear hold
- .75mm nose mounted chaingun
- 2 short range wing mounted missle pods

* Destructibility
- Both wing and rear propulsion areas are the targets, and can take 1 rocket. destroy 2 of these systems and the Pelican will no longer be able to support its wieght and crash.
- Rear Turret is also a target and can be destroyed.
- At full speed, any contact with a solid, immobile surface means instant death for pilot and crew.

Now, this all means you must flank the ship to take it down. Which isnt a big deal, considering the pelicans slow speed. Now, you guys who think it is a killtacular on wings with the open compartment in the rear, this can also be changed. A 2 panel rear door that closes all the gaps on the sides of the gunner. So all that is targetable is the gunner. Now when the gun is destroyed, a third door is deployed and fully enveloped the back end.

This may sound complicated, but it is balanced. Now, when this ship crashes, you basically lose all shields for an extended period, making you vulnerable. If you are the pilot, you die instantly on impact, unless you bail out. Everyone has the option to bail out just by pressing x at any time.

If you dont think that is balanced, tell me some more suggestions or tell me situations that might not work in, and make it too easy/hard to kill.

If the pelican crashed there should be like thhe back sticks out of the water. you could also have parachuts lol

These are my ideas for the Pelicans stats:

Crew:

1 Pilot
1 Rear Gunner
4 Passengers

Weak Spots:

Firing rocket in rear kills gunner and passengers.
The sentinel beam can cut a hole in the hull.

Shooting one wing with the rocket causes the Pelican to lean one way.

The window can be shot through.

when you leave the pilot seat, you have to walk back out the back.

When the pelican crashes, remember all the shells and rockets its carrying. It would make a big boom!

If you shoot the partially exposed fuel tanks on the wings (like on the ghost) the entire pelican will start hurtling towards the ground. so u can escape.

The thing has about ten seats though, and the idea of a fuel tank is just horrible. If you could one-shot a pelican out of the air then there is simply no point in calling it a heavily armored transport vehicle, and no one would drive it for fear of getting sniped out of the air.

If there is a Pelican I think that should be voulnerable to a rocket to the inside. Think about it, either way it would be very difficult to angle a rocket so that it would enter the rear compartment. If you could pull it off at such a crazy angle, by all means you deserve a kill. And it wouldn't kill everyone inside seeing as how everyone isn't that tightly packed.

I would also have to disagree with the ability to bail at any moment. It should take a bit of time to get out of the pelican, to force pilots to pick safe areas to unload the crew.

I also agree with all the people that have been saying that you should have to walk into the pelican through the back, then make your way to the cockpit and press X in order to pilot it.

i dont think the pelican should be used in multiplayer but it should be in campaign mode. In multiplayer there should be a human aerial vehicle like a flying warthog. It should have a pilot gunner 1 or 2 passengers.

hah! Now that is something that i can really agree on. I do believe the pelican is to big for multiplayer but if we were to get something smaller. I believe that would be just fine. The cool thing about a smaller version is that u can use it on levels about the size of coag and headlong, i mean u dont need a riduclously huge level to operate it.

I don't think their really should be Pelicans but would like it if there were the Covenant Buses and APCs to transport troops. It'd also make it really cool to make war movies with.

I think the Pelican should be a choice in Multiplayer because imagine CTF on a map (hope fully big) with a Pelican at each base, so you would have to worry about people sneaking into the base, and the people in the Pelican droping in the base then back to the pelican, then a scramble to blow up the Pelican! (the idea of weakspots to help blow it up)

What is wrong with all of you??!!!! Pelicans would ROCK. What we need is heavy anti-air turrets guarding huge bases 4xthe size of the bases on containment. We need 25 on 25 matches, with bases with no way in except to use arial insertion or explosives. Like Imagine you and 15 other guys are outside the base walls, under heavy fire, and one of your buddies bombs the snot out of the walls with a Longsword and you all storm the breach to grab the flag. Or even better, what if Red and Blue teams started off in 2 different bases on different sides of an island and 10 flood spawned every 10 seconds. 5 would then go and attack each base. Eventually both would be overwhelmed (only 1 life) and the last team standing wins. What if 10 Red guys are flying in to the blue base and the pelican gets hit by a Blue tank? It lurches, shakes, then gets hit again and spirals into the ground, KILAMONJARO!!!!

Troop transports on the ground is a better idea then pelicans.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

Pelicans should be drivable and they should lose their invinciblity. Make them very bullet resistant though. It would also be a good idea if all Pelicans have a pilot on the front. I looked at airborne Pelicans and there were no pilots. That is strange but yet again there are such things as a navigational computer so the Pelican could fly itself.

I have to agree that a ground transport Vehicle, such as the Covenenant Bus, would be a bit more balanced while still being cool.

We should be able to pilot phantoms and Pelicans. But it would have to be so that every turret on the phantom would need an individual person to operate it.

The Pelicans should be allowed on each team ONLY. Like the other team couldn't steal it. This is what made BF2 more of a take cover games than an okay grenade! BOOM! gogogo!

Well, the pelicans should be stealable. But think of it this way. If you dont have rockets, would you want 2 floating coffins?
