I don't care if I get flamed, but I think this would be a good plot twist to have the Arbiter die heroicly. I mean, you really don't care about him as much as the Master Chief, and face it, the Arbiter kind of wants to die. He's a very tortured character, so death would be somewhat redeeming for him. But he should go out heroicly! Not killed by Truth, or someone, just in a snap. He has to go out with a fight, as his final send off. What do you think?

Yes, but a heroic death would make us all feel better. He's gone, but he leaves a good memory behind for us.

I dont like him at all.. So, watching him get corpse humped by a flood would make me feel warm inside.

  • 07.15.2006 1:37 AM PDT

It wouldn't be much of a twist seeing as how people on the bungie.net forums are predicting it now eh? People are expecting either the Master Chief or the Arbiter to die, its all too obvious in my opinion.

I want the Chief to live. We actually care about the Chief. He's our last hope, and he's just likeable. The Arbiter is just sort of another guy we have to play as.

I'd rather have the Arbiter die and already have thought of it than have a twist.. Halo is about the MC, not a silly elite.

I hope the Cheif dies in the most anti-climatic way.

For example, while in a cinematic with the Arbiter and MC, you see MC standing on a bridge and gets knocked off by a bird.

Arbiter becomes the main story line character, and every fan boy of the stupid green man can complain/cry/cut themselves.

I on the other hand, will be laughing.

The Cheif could acidentaly sniper the Arbitor. Like a target moves and it hits the Arbitor.

The MC basically made Halo.. Why would you want a silly alien in ancient armor to survive, when his looks alone are reason enough for him to be shot?

Because that "silly alien in ancient armour" has more friggen story line that MC. He is a much deeper character than MC ever will have.

Here are the storylines summed up in two lines.

MC = Simple minded people who like to shoot things smaller and less scary than him.

Arbiter = People who like a good, deep story. Who like fighting things which will present a challange and would like the game to be more than just a "ha ha. grunt go bye bye. ha ha"

Don't go bashing him just because he's not pretty by human standards!

Well, if I'm playing him...he's gonna die many, many times before all is said and done. I think the story should change based on how bad you do. So where I kill my charater just before every cut scene, my character should be missing limbs, or I shouldn't be allowed to see the full ending for rushing thru and killing all my troops.

Apparently, you havent read the books, and are now rabling idiotically about how you got more storyline about the arbitor from about 5 minutes of cutscene, then from 3 books about the SPARTANS and MC.

You also forget that your fighting Hunters, Elites and Brutes, as well as the flood ad MC. They arent very small and sure as hell arent very weak. Go back and play the game. As Arbitor it was damn easy as hell because you were fighting even more grunts then MC and the elites you were fighting all had antiquated armor and shields. You also had the hunters and elites on your side.

So tell me again...how is fighting some brutes and guys in old armor harder then fighting Brutes,Hunters,Elites,Flood, and Jackal Snipers in very advanced armor and shields?

We have you surrounded... at least from this side.

its pretty much been established that the game is not the same as the books. but personally i think the arbiters storyline is more emotional and all that stuff because everything he believed in has been turned upside down and now he has new allies and new enemies and when he kind of strikes a sort of truce with the sgt. johnson.
MC just got some more allies and is still kicking ass to save the earth, MC is kind of like a young arnold schwarzenegger except with less groping... or more im not sure.

I like the arbiter ( I just wish that he could have kept his gold armor) but like all the other arbiters, he must die.

I think the arbiter has it coming to him and he'll die heroically and itll be this huge battle. Im not being biased here, I like the green man as much as i like the arbiter but they just have diffrent attributes, for example MC kills lots of things and is all hereoic and the arbiter is all grr im fighting for the right to live and i have faith in everyone. I just dont dont understand why everyone hates the arbiter, meh. but it would be cool of he dies all cool n' stuff like fighting off the flood while master chief has to do something with the computer or program something. As i said the arbiter has got it coming so it wont be a big surprise if he dies.

Can you say..alien predjudice?

Arbiter has more of a personality than MC. But yes, I have this gut feeling the Arbiter will die.

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

I care more about the arbiter in Halo 2 than I do master chief in Halo 2...the entire games focus this time is on the Covenant Civil War, and I think it would have been much more coherent to have played the entire game as the arbiter.
