98% of teenagers drink or have done drugs. Put this in your profile if you like bagels.

They have. I believe they do a Checksum and if the map file is a different size then they are banned. But if you modify the map and keep it the same size then it wouldn't be noticed and people would still be able to cheat on that map. Also Halo 3 is on the XBOX 360. Nobody has really gotten into the 360 that much to cheat yet. If so the game will be continuously updated still. The main problem is network cheating. Bridging, standby, etc. But im sure they will have new ways to detects that. And you can always still rely on the good ole' cheating feedback :].

i think it would take alot of time to do that befor a game
step 5?

Well, if they did a checksum, one file's is going to be different from another. So i'm pretty sure they don't do this. I think it's a good idea though.

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

They should add an option to boot a player if he has a score of -3 (thats a good way to solve the deranking problem)

For modders, im guessing that your way (1st post) is the best.

For standby. Something to detect everytime the conections turn to crap, and after it happens 3 times just boot the player that is causing the problem. (i dont really know how this works, but hey, im not a tech genius or anything, i let the guys at bungie figure that one out)

they need to make it so when your account gets banned people dont go out and get a new 3 month free account every bloody week thats that main reason. I mena who cares when you got a unlimited supply of 3 month free haloing lol

Or simply when someone reports cheating just ban them from ever playing Halo Games on Live. The connection must leave some sort of code, like the IP codes you get with PC's, so if the person makes a new account but has the same connection code, Halo 3, 2 and 1 will just boot them out or just Grey out all the options so they cannot join.

The only way to stop cheating is eliminate the cheaters themselves and by eliminate I mean punch in the teeth. And who at Bungie has time to go around punching people in the teeth when they are making the best game ever, Halo 3.

Trust me...they have ways of knowing...just because you can't have something tangible that gives you proof of people being banned...they are. And whether you like it or not, the cheater or person banned still has the same privacy rights as you do.

"There are fighters and there are targets. There is nothing else."

well heres a thought: just put in a small disclaimer with every xbox live subscription, as well as on the dashboard, saying something to the effect that if you are found cheating on xbox live your xbox/360 will be destroyed. then if they cheat, download a nice little bit of code off live to destroy their xbox. wipe all data, in other words. or just shut down the cooling fans in the back so it overheats and dies.

umm...there is a Terms of Use, and cheating is covered by that. You cheat, and you break that ToU, by breaking that you can be banned.

"Your destruction is the will of the gods...and we are their instrument."

It's sad because some people even suck at cheating. My brother was playing a slayer match and one of the players shut down the match for everyone but him so he could get in extra kills. When everyone came back, he had about 15 more kills then he initially had. But in the end, he still lost with the worst score.

With the 360's feedback option it will be ok because you can leave the player avoid feedback so it will be very rare for you to play them again.
