Having just read the black armour thread, another issue is raised.

The elite model has one definate and one possible disadvantage to the spartan.

Possible: Spartans may be faster, I haven't proved this yet, but sometimes when I'm running from a spartan, he manages to catch up!

Definate: The orange pieces oon an elites armour darken when the shield is low, that is a HUUUGE flaw. Why bother taking out the stronger dude when you can see that the elites shield is almost drained...easy prey.

If someone wants to say neither of these are flaws, please give a good reason why.

I'm afraid I cannot access a cammera now, but go onto campaign mode as arbiter and go behind a friendly elite. Shoot him and watch the orange parts darken. Works in MP too. I have yet to prove the speed thing.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

There are no advantages or dissadvantages to either Spartan or Elite models, it is all in your head.

(sign) before anyone AT ALL starts saying I'm wrong, go and do exactly this:

Find an elite ally, go behind him and shoot him, the orange parts on it's armour WILL darken. I have done this and so can you, stop dennying it when you can see for yourself.

lol the speed diffrence is in your head the same tihng happens with spartans chasing spartans its just lag issues and how they run and jump and how you run ect. Now the color changing you are right but how many people pay attention to that any how. Plus during the game i almsot always go for the elite first for 2 main reasons im progrmed to kill elites on site from playing campagin mode and just because most elite players are not very skilled iv yet to meet an elite player that could sersily cause me much problem exceopt 1s during team swat and i was palying like crap lol.

there is indeed a minute disadvantage with the elite model, but it hardly makes a difference. Ironically I was better at the game and won more matches when I had an elite model as opposed to my current spartan one.

It's also host advantage.

I play as an Elite sometimes, unless im on a bad day(no matter what I lose Spartan or leet[as in Elite])i'll lose. But when i'm on my good days i'll always win regardless. I always win in SWAT, when I was an elite. Also there was a time on Lockout. We were glitching on Coag and we forgot to switch back to Spartys. Sniper game on Lockout. we owned. We were all Elites. So this tells you it doesn't matter what you are.

SWAT is even better. least deaths a few running riots most kills. All with an Elite.

Heh. You know what would be cool? When you speak trhough the mic, when voice is picked up, like say a short wword or sentance, the Elties mouth flaps like he's talking, like in Campaign. I think that would be interesting.

I dont see why everyone say's they are different it is in your head one person started a rumor about "big head's" and everyone followed it so now they think that they do have bigger head's when they dont!

Not sure if this is in halo 2, but in halo 1 at least, you can set it so that the more people you kill the slower you run, and vice versa for deaths, to balance it out a little.

I think it should still be removed, there's no real need for it anyway is there?

"Your destruction is the will of the gods...and we are their instrument."

It's just a cool effect. Plus, I don't think anyone is camping on the highest point on a map with a sniper and checking the elites to see who's orange spots are dark.

I find that true as well. I'm curious as to why players who choose Elite models seem to be less experienced (noobs). Yet, I still find them at intermediate levels 25+. Hmmm...perhaps, Elite models do have a disadvantage, at least it appears that way. They are bigger and easier to spot.

Elites can't lunge as far with the Energy Sword either. Go on Multiplayer and see for yourself. Thier shield also is a lot brighter when they get shot, so it's easy to see where they are.

Think about it, the more you play as an Elite, the more you will learn to overcome the handicap of beign a larger target, and you will teach yourself strategies to avoid suck occurences where being a large target will be a major disadvantage.

When you then change back to being a Spartan, all the training as an elite will pay off.

Aside from the Elite not being able to lunge from as far away, I also saw a video that had an Elite and a Spartan standing in front of each other and they both shot each other with smgs. The Elite always lost because his sheild went down a ton faster due to them being a larger target.

The reason the Spartans are prefered over Elites is not for these reasons. Its because elites are easy to headshot from any direction except from behind. Their heads stick out about a foot from thier body. Whereas the Spartan's head is small, and hard to hit. As well as the spartan has an area on its armor that will trigger the shield animation, but not register a hit on the apponent.

That previous glitch pisses me off alot, becuase it is just below the head, on the shoulder/neck transition.

its all the same. anyways even if the elites colour darkens as his shield is low, you dont need that to tell his shield is low anyways. Same goes for spartan. When the shield is down you can see it on the guy. They spark and crackle and that electricity and all that. Me personally know when sombodys shield is low or not. especially if im hitting them or watching them get hit because my brain knows exactly how much sombody can take befor theyre dead.
