Okay. I know that the idea of adding other spartans in to the game is a touchy idea, but this is not to adress whether or not it should be done. This is a simple proposal of how it would be possible to incorperate Linda in to Halo 3. Here is how it would be done:

- A cutscene would show a close up on Linda's face, her eyelids closed, with her eyes moving beneath them. Engines can be heard in the background. It would show this shot for about 5 seconds.

> Cut to flashback, showing many Spartans gathered around, where part of the conversation from Fall of Reach is heard, specifically the fact that John, Linda, and James were going to the space station.

> Flash to another section of the flashback, showing linda getting shot multiple times by plasma bolts

- Linda's face is shown again, with her eyes still moving, eyelids still closed. A semi-flinch is seen mometarily.

> Cut to flashback, John carrying Linda and placing her in the cryotube, possibly saying something comforting.

- Another short clip showing Linda's face, eyes still closed

> Flashback, showing the MC, after Halo, grabbing her cryo tube, and pulling it in to the Longsword.

> Another portion of the flashback, showing her being revived.

- Linda's eyes are still closed. Over a radio, you hear "Spartan **, Linda, prepare for insertion" (I dont remember her number off the top of my head). Her eyes shoot open. The camera switches to a further out view, showing her sitting in the back fo a pelican, in Spartan armor, except for her helmet. She grabs her helmet, and puts it on, grabs her sniper rifle, and stands up.

After that point, if a level were to start, it would go first person, and you would control linda from inside the Pelican passenger bay.

Now, this post is not to adress whether or not this should be done. It is to ask a simple question: If they were to introduce the Spartans, would this be a good way to do it?

It would be cool, but the majority of people that have played the Halo games have not read the books. So they've been this "last hope" for these two games, and now all the sudden they aren't the only hero? I doubt bungie would add Sparans in Halo 3, mention them maybe. But I don't think you're going to see more than one spartan in campaign outside of co-op.

A suggestion I made before would be to have a seperate video section on the game which would have cinematics people could watch to learn more about the Spartans - where they came, what happened to them, where its led them etc. That way people who haven't read the books wouldn't get too confused, and more knowledgeable Halo fans wouldn't have to sit through long cinematics about things they already knew.

to quote some cool guy,

Halo 1= 1 Spartan
Halo 2= 1 spartan
Halo 3= 1 spartan

any questions?

About the books. I myself havn't read one word from any of the books but through a little bit of reading(mainly these forums) i can basically understand what they(ppl who have read the books) are talking about and from somebody, who hasn't read the books, point of view. I love the Idea of new spartans uncluding einx359 opening scene idea.

No. It's too late to introduce any other Spartans, and you won't play as them. Even if you do, you will look the same as the Chief. Wow, people. Think about it. They won't be in H3. They weren't even mentioned in H1 or 2, so why in H3? How would they fit in? You already have the Arbiter and MC.
