Ok, I didnt want to post this here but nothing ever gets answered in the other forums anymore...

When the Master Chief wants to control something on his HUD, how does he do it. I remember something in the novels that made me think he focuses on it with his eyes/mind and it activates but somewhere else said "He chinned the control".

Does that mean the controls are in that general area of his helmet and he just hits the control he wants with his chin?

Most likely a combination of both.

Sensors probably detect simple controls like checking a box (like the 'x' button on a program) with eye movement, while voice controls are activated by 'chinning' the strap. Others could be voice activated, there are many ways he could do control the suit, but I'm sure it's not just one thing.

The Interface in his body, connected to his suit does everything.

Some thins need to be manually Overridden (like knocking out his own shields) and I would guess there would be a way to unseal his whole suit from in his helmet, incase his Interface failed.

Yes, im also assuming that there is an override on the outside of the suit that will unlock it. If the Master Chief fainted/ knocked unconscious then there would have to be some way to take the suit off from the outside, for medicals reasons. If there was no way to take it off then he could risk drowning in his own blood or something.

But it would have to be something that the Covenant cant just activate as well.

Well the suit is a lot like other suits I reckon. It has clasps and stuff so that he and the technicians who help him dress can just slip it on and snap. The snaps probably are created to help with the vacuum seal.

Though the suit itself does pump biofoam into his wounds, and would no doubt drain blood in the case of an emergency.

Yeh that was a pretty bad example but you got what I meant. And unless another Spartan was around in a battle situation, theres no way another marines going to get the suit off. John even said it himself that it took a group of technicians with specialized equiptment to get it off anyway.

Did anyone notice how he took off his helmet at the end of Halo CE?

It looked like he pulled it off, probably after pushing two buttons mounted on the side somewhere.

Did you know that the smalle fusion reactors (that power the shields) have a failsafe, that if activated by someone who knows the code..will explode? I believe it was about the radius of 10 frags, or something..

One of those nasty little last ditch surprises the Spartans are known for. At least they don't go down without a fight.
