Subject: a few things on halo i don't get

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

1. Forerunners
How old are they if millions of years, somehow thier installations survived after thier activation of a halo, the halo(s) themseves somhow also survived, prophets and librarians also survived

As has been said the halos don't destroy life by blowing it up, so to speak. They only destroy sentient life. How they do this is as yet unknown, but it's safe to assume that buildings/ moons /planets are left relatively unaffected (think neutron bomb rather than TNT)

2. Covenant
Thier languages, the grunts speak english, the elites have segmented english, the hunters just animalistic howls, brutes barking, the fly-things seem to have no language at all, and the prophets seem to sound like something from a 15th century cathedral, and somehow they they have broken the human defences on earth until the end of the 2nd game, and they seem to regard forerunner built contraptions(i.e. librarians, "prophets")as holy

Each of the covenant species have their own language as they arose on different planets. I'm assuming that when the joined/were conquered by the covenant they were taught a common language. The covenant also studied humanity before they began to attack (the chief wasn't actually trained to battle the covenant, rather dissident humans) and the first broadcast to humanity was in english. I don't understand why you don't get that the covenant regard forerunner stuff as Holy. The founders of the Covenant (elites/prophets) evolved on a former forerunner planet. They found such buildings and incorporated them into their religion. Now the forerunner as gods and want to follow them into the after life (the great journey). The have broken the human defences on earth because the have much better technology/ ships/ greater numbers than the humans and have been systematically wiping humanity from the face of the galaxy. It's not surprising that they've conquered earth.

3.Humans
The 2500s but still using bullets, all but a few spartan soldiers survived the initial attack by the Covenant, how many times has Seargent Johnson died(not including in-game things like shooting him), somehow not being able to mass-produce spartan soldiers, Master Chief surviving the attack on Reach yet no other spartans

We've already been using metal bullets for about 500 years (although is is really only since the 1800's that they have been a main stay in battles), so why not stick with what you know. Plus we don't know really what happened in that 500 years. We could have had a mini dark age, or maybe the world was decimated by guerilla warfare with more home-made devices and weapon technology didn't advance. Or it could be that humanity just hadn't advanced enough to use energy weapons. Or simply that it was more cost effective to just tradition projectile based weaponry since the covenant started wiping out human colonies and resources.

Yes according to the books other Spartans survived on Reach or where away at the time. According to the Halo 1 manual the MC is the last. The games and books are different entities and need not necessarily follow the same course. Only very few candidates are capable of entering the spartan project and even then almost half of them died or were unfit for duty after the augmentation process.

Johnson has never died. Read either the books or the HGN for alternate explanations. Personally i prefer the HGN version.

4. The Flood
somehow they survived the first halo acitivation and also spread to other Forerunner installations, and they are pratically immune to Covenant weapons

They were already on all the forerunner structures we've seen. The Forerunner were studying to try and find a way to defeat them. They failed and had to activate the rings. They are not immune to covenant weapons. The covenant weapons are just not as effective because they are energy weapons (now aren't you glad humans still use bullets!). They are designed to burn the victim causing extreme damage to vital organs. The flood forms essentially can suffer all the plasma burns you like because they aren't designed for long term survival. Human weapons work much better because the are explosive and literally rip the flood forms apart causing damage to different areas of the body at once. Meaning it is more likely that the human weapon will hit something that is vital to the flood forms survival (like the nervous system). Essentially they're space zombies. The halos don't kill the flood they kill their food. The flood can hibernate and some were kept in storage for study, the Covenant let them out again.

Hope that answers some of the questions you had in an understandable way.

Exacyly that. Living on a halo. They contain the flood. When fired they destroy all life surrounding the station so the flood can't escape. Containment protocol . So even if that installation was fired say 3 time over the 1000 yr period the food source on delta is fine. It's just the rest of us that fry.

Halo in the 1950's
92% of teens moved on to rap music. If your part of the 8% that stayed with rock, rock hard my friend and put this in your sig

About Humans. The fact that they are still using bullets in the 26th centery may infact be true.
