Subject: Will Halo 3 intergrate euphoria technology? Bungie please read.

Just remember... I keep it real...

Just imagine though. You shoot a gun out of the hand of a Grunt and then he shakes his hand due to the pain. After that he picks up his gun again and searches for you. Now that would be cool...

Yes, it would have to have very limited capabilities in mulitiplayer.

And I thought that I was the only person who thought the idea of shooting the gun out of someone's hand would be cool.

Definitely one of the best uses for euphoria, haha. If the gun gets shot out of their hand, the powerful AI will help them search for a new one, possibly a better one than they had before.

That would likely Be limited to grunts and Maybe jackals.
I'd imagine it would be too easy to shoot the gun out of an Elites hand..

This thread is AMAZINGLY insightful.

But Bungie is already testing theyre single player so chances are they have all the physics and character animations done this far in the game. Or could i be wrong?

I think that you wouldn't be able to shoot the gun out of an elites hand, even using euphoria. Because the character is so strong, that would be a difficult feat to accomplish, even if you hit it perfectly. The euphoria is part of the elite, so it will sometimes drop the gun, sometimes not, depending on the exact circumstances presented by the game.

The way I see it is to much realism could be bad for the game cause when you get hit who know how will you react? If you hit an elite and he is clutching his body with his hand. Won't you end up doing the same thing just so it looks realstic?
jUST a thought.

True.
I was trying to state how being able to shoot a gun out of an elites hand would make the game too easy.
I think that as far as multiplayer is concerned. If you melee someone in the face.
I would love to see them punched back if that melee killed them.

You could be wrong. Someone else said the same thing. However, someone else said that Euphoria can blend in with the physics already implicated and make it better.

That's why Euphoria is amazing. A certain cause makes a certain effect. As you said, the result you want will only happen under the right circumstances.

Got to go, continue tommorow.

ok... this thread is pointless... you know why? cuz you're trying to convince bungie to put something in a game that they've been working on for over 2 years now.... to add your Euphoria technology they'd probably have to go back and change a WHOLE lot of stuff, which they just won't do, cuz it would cost too much money!!

Money is no problem for halo 3. They spent 66 million dollars and made 59 million dollars in profit. The thing is microsoft will give them all the money they want. Oh and they worked on it after halo 2 was done so its been like 1 1/2 years.

It would be difficult to integrate Euphoria into the game if it isn't already there or if programming it in would affect the game too much.

I guess we can only hope that it is either in the game already. or an equivalent has been implemented to some degree.

I think even If it doesn't make it into the final game then the talented Bungie employees will still do what is right for Halo and make whatever they have fit.

As for shooting the gun out of their hands, maybe a bit much. I would really like to see some stuff from that video though. Like for example-

A Brute is shooting a carbine at you and it suddenly runs out of ammo, you hear it try to shoot a few more time but only to hear the click of an empty fuel cartridge. It jumps at you in an attempt to beat you down with the butt of the empty weapon but at the same time one of its allys also jumps at you, they collide in mid air and are sent tumbling to the ground which gives you enough time to pick up the plasma grenade it dropped. You throw it with such force that it knocks one off its feet and blows the other up and send it flying through the air.

Ok the bit apart the grenade knocking him off his feet, well I exaggerated cos I thought it would be cool but the rest is ok. ;-)

The only problem I can think of in Euphoria or a Euphoria-like engine is bugs. Havok has tons of bugs and wierd little glitches like "book launching" in Oblivion and the infamous superbounce in Halo 2 (granted, the later is restricted to one game), and it isn't nearly as complex as Euphoria.

it would be a great idea and im all for it, but i dont think that bungie would use it especially since they supposedly have this engine that is just as good

I hpe the engine is good anyway. It seems alright from the trailer although no real hand-to-hand action has been seen yet.

I like my noob flame-broiled with uber-l33t sauce on the side and a teabag on top.

How do you like your n00b?

I'd also like to see the Jackals phalax...

You know... some real coordinated attacks.

I'd like to see them actually try to take the territory you have. Instead of just waiting around for you to come out, actually try to take the area you're hiding in.

Well i guess they have that ini think last weeks weekly update frankie said that some grunts did a pincer movement on him. i think this means bungie already have some new quality A.I

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I think this is one of the first REAL ideas ever posted on this forum. I thank you forrunner120 for at least having a fairly diverse lexicon and actually paying moderate attention to spelling and grammar. I can't tell you how many times I've seen "whY teh swrd shud be taking out an teh pistel from halo 1 CE be put bak in."

Getting back to the original subject, that would be freaking awesome. To the nth power. I think I may just buy the new Indiana Jones game just to see the technology in action, other than the video that someone put a link to in their post. I wonder if Bungie would ever consider this.
